All that mouth from a safe distance...

then suddenly their vocabulary
needs f**kin’ life support.

There was a time when connection didn’t require a password.

You didn’t check signal strength.

You checked the sky.

You knew who you were with by the sound of their laugh, the pause before a story, the silence that didn’t need filling.

Out here, nobody rushes.

Nobody scrolls.

Nobody multitasks their memories.

The fire tells you when it’s time to add another log.

The lake tells you when the night is settling in.

And the people around you tell you everything else just by being there.

These were the evenings that stayed with you.

Not because anything big happened — but because nothing interrupted them.

No notifications pulling you away.

No noise competing for your attention.

Just faces lit by firelight and conversations that wandered wherever they wanted to go.

This is where stories were told slowly.

Where friendships deepened without effort.

Where time felt generous instead of scarce.

You didn’t need entertainment.

You were already part of it.

And long after the fire burned down to embers, this is the feeling you carried home — the quiet reminder that the strongest connections were never wireless.

Profound wisdom. Simple, yet hard for some to grasp.
