FLASHBACK FRIDAY...

“You need it, we have it”
Watercolour

What is old is new again... Vicki has found old photos from the 60’s. She has finished another watercolour; this one of the old Smith store in Orangedale, Cape Breton. When I was growing up this was across from my school, where sometimes on Friday our bus driver would stop so we could get a sweet for the long drive home. Most of the time it was the store we frequented in between the big shopping trips to Port Hawkesbury. Lots of childhood memories sitting on a stool by the counter while my father talked to Garnet. These are the old gas pumps outside the store.

I have a few more watercolours to post but will save until tomorrow.

I will be matting it first and then framing then.

All are for sale.

Another auction piece.... this picture is called “Rearview Mirror” and was painted 1974. It is a view of our driveway in the rearview mirror of the truck.

This page is up and running again after some time away.

First up is a Flashback Friday! This watercolour from the 1970’s was discover at an auction. It is called “Apple Branch”. This tree was on our property on Big Harbour Island, Cape Breton where we lived for many years. It was purchased at auction and found its way back to Claire at the shop to be reframed.
