rock, paper scissors... MURAL ✨️✍️

06/06/2026

Caught a wholesome interaction at the end 🥹

I usually paint murals after business hours so I can focus, film content, and stay out of everyone's way. Because of that, I don't often get to hear people's reactions in real time!

The kind words and questions, felt really nice 💕

I showed up at 7am yesterday for day 2 of painting, giving myself just 2 hours to finish this mural before my massage appointment at and somehow finished with only minutes to spare 🫣

And honestly? This was the best I've ever felt after painting a mural. Getting a massage right after might have to become part of my post-mural routine 🧖‍♀️✨

Mural for ceramics studio 💕

When Kris reached out, she only had two requests: peonies and gold accents.

What she didn’t know was that she asked me at a really interesting point in my life. It was November 2025, I was deep in the chaos of XXL Scrunchie Black Friday, and I hadn’t officially painted any murals yet. (The last one I did was in 2023 and before that 2021)

I remember feeling:

“Yes, this is my style I can create an amazing mural for her.”

And...

“Wait... is she sure she wants *me* to paint her wall?”

A little confidence and a little imposter syndrome ✨✨✨

This mural will always hold a special place in my heart because it existed before, during, and after my pivot back to being an artist. It was the first client mural I painted this year, and honestly, it reminded me how much I loved painting!

Having a mural booked before I was even posting about murals again was such a confidence boost. 🥹

Thank you again, Kris, for trusting me with your wall! 🖤

When I saw her reaction seeing it for the first time, it reminded me how much I love working together with a client to bring ideas to life. ☁️

i tried not to post about this mural because i was embarrassed about the spelling mistake 🫣

i stared at this design for HOURS.drawing it, hours transferring it onto the wall, and hours painting it.
It wasn’t until everything was outlined in black paint and I stepped back to take a breath that I realized it said EVOLE instead of EVOLVE.

“Let yourself evolve” was the message. 😅

A few good things despite the mistake:

1. This mural was for me. It was one of two murals I wanted to paint for content and practice. At the time I drew it, I had no idea I’d be moving out of my warehouse within a month or that I’d have actual mural clients booking projects.

2. since I was technically the client... I approved it. 😂

3. it’s just paint. Annoying to fix? Absolutely. But completely fixable if I had the time. I knew it was getting painted over by the next tenant and I had other murals to get to, so I didn’t bother to fix it and carried on

4. it taught me to be extra (EXTRA) careful with spelling moving forward. Mistakes turn into lessons, and that’s usually how I learn best!

What felt embarrassing at the time has turned into a funny story. a friend will bring up the mural and ask, “So... what does evole mean?” 😂

I’ve been so focused on mural clients, proposals, filming, editing, and actually trying to enjoy life lately that I completely forgot to just post photos. 😅

When meeting with potential mural clients, I keep pulling up Instagram to show examples of my work and quickly realized I’ve only posted videos! I also try to delete mural photos from my phone as soon as I’m done one and upload it to Dropbox to store or else I’d run out of memory 😅

So this is me playing catch-up with a few mural photo dumps over the next little while.

Looking back, this wasn’t just a mural… it was the beginning of a whole new chapter for me as an artist. 🖤

This mural started while I was still running XXL Scrunchie.

It was designed while I was questioning what was next.

I stenciled it while packing up a warehouse and shipping our final 1,400+ orders.

And it was finished after I officially became a mural artist again.

Funny how a blank wall can end up telling your own story too. 🖤

fun full-circle moment: they were actually my work neighbours when I had the scrunchie warehouse. Earlier this year, the clinic manager saw one of my murals at a local dance studio and reached out about creating something for their space.

This was also my first time using a VR headset to transfer my artwork onto a wall, and I’m officially obsessed. It made the process so much easier and faster. App:

I had hoped to finish the entire mural tonight, but between golf, tennis, mural painting, editing content and not giving my wrist any rest lately, I had to call it after about 2 hours.

Back for day two this week to finish drawing the sailboat, tighten up some details on the Belleville Bridge, and capture the final after shots 🎨
