Last week Brampton Brick hosted an Conference 2026 session at our Cambridge Block Facility for a hands-on look at the future of masonry and sustainable manufacturing.

Guests explored how our concrete block is proudly Ontario made: locally mined, locally produced, and designed for architectural versatility. 🍁

The tour also highlighted CarboClave technology, an innovative curing process that allows the plant to operate as a ‘carbon sink’ by using more CO₂ than it generates, with no extra water or energy required. 🌿💨

The day wrapped up with a hands-on demo from where guests were challenged to build their own brick and block walls. We were super impressed by everyone’s enthusiasm and hidden masonry talent!! 🧱🔨

Thank you to the OAA, Nick Crumb at the Canadian Masonry Design Center, and the OMTC instructors for an engaging day focused on innovation, sustainability, and the future of masonry in Ontario.

What makes some buildings still feel relevant a decade later? This all-brick townhouse development in Toronto’s Leslieville, designed by in 2014, shows how strong materials and thoughtful design work together to create lasting impact.

Why this project still feels fresh today comes down to more than aesthetics. Our clay brick is durable, low-maintenance, and built to last for over a century - reducing waste while developing character over time. These townhouses feature Contemporary Series Raven and Windsor, reinforcing a modern yet enduring architectural expression. Just as important is the process behind it. The 44 freehold homes were shaped through close collaboration between the architect, developer, community, and city, resulting in a cohesive, cost-conscious design that still feels relevant today.
