The Beacon of Hope:
It is with great admiration and respect that I nominate Bella Cove as The Beacon of Hope for
our school. Bella exemplifies the true essence of an unsung hero through her unwavering
strength, compassion, and dedication to uplifting those around her. She embodies the five
common characteristics of an unsung hero in the following ways:
Humility: Bella continuously places others before herself, showing kindness and support to her
peers. She remains a true friend, always standing up for what is right, even when IS not the
easiest or most popular choice. Her selfless nature inspires those around her to be better and to
lead with kindness
Empathy: Despite enduring an unimaginable loss-the passing of her 13-year-old brother,
Roman, who was also her best friend- Bella has shown extraordinary empathy toward others.,
Even in her own grief, she reaches out to those who are struggling, offering comfort and
understanding to anyone in need.
Committed to a Cause: Bella has turned her grief into
a force for good, honoring her brother's
memory through charitable actions. She has organized a Christmas toy drive that collected
thousands of toys for children across our province. Additionally, she has started fundraising for
animal shelters by selling sweaters featuring a design created by her brother, accompanied by
the powerful message: "Live Like Roman,
Courage to Do the Right Thing: Bella remains strong in her faith and values, believing that
everything happens for a reason. She found peace in giving to others and doing what is right,
seeing it as a way to stay connected to both God and her brother. Her moral courage is an
inspiration to everyone who knows her.
Consistent Excellence and Teamwork: Despite facing such a profound personal loss, Bella
continues to demonstrate excellence in her academics and teamwork. She approaches her
schoolwork with dedication and remains an active collaborator, always willing to support and
uplift her classmates.
