Four countries, one compact corner of Europe. 🇦🇹🇮🇹🇸🇮🇭🇷

Last night was all about discovering Alps2Adriatic, a region where the Alps, vineyards, centuries of history and the Adriatic coast come together.
So much can be experienced within a relatively small area, from cross-border cycling and active adventures to food, culture and pre- and post-cruise possibilities from Trieste.

The phrase of the night? “Europe in a nutshell.” And after hearing more about it, I can understand why. Ask me all about the Adriatic!

Thank you to 5Continents and New Deal Europe for a lovely and inspiring evening!

Think you’ve seen enough of Mexico? While Cancun, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos remain popular vacation destinations, I know some travellers love Mexico but are still looking for something different. Perhaps something a bit more experiential over a sun and beach vacay.

Meet Loreto. It’s a popular place for Canadians and it remains a place to experience Mexico , not as a tourist, but as a traveller. There’s Mexican history and culture to explore, beautiful turquoise waters and white sand beaches, whale watching and plenty of snorkelling and diving opportunities. And the whale-watching opportunities! Wow, is all I can say!

WestJet offers direct flights from Calgary so it’s a great option to consider this winter or it’s only a 6 hour drive from Los Cabo or 4 hours from La Paz. It’s perfect for a Mexico vacation that is not crowded, not touristy and plenty of authentic, real Mexico experiences. You will find boutique-style properties, all-inclusive and hotel-only options.

If you want to review some options, let me know and I would be happy to find some quotes!

Tonight Exoticca was in Calgary, and the room was full of people who genuinely love what they do.

For a travel supplier that has invested heavily in technology to make our jobs easier — and to give travellers the opportunity to take those bucket-list trips at a more affordable price — the conversation leaned heavily into the people and relationships that make it all possible.

Technology cannot replace the relationship between suppliers and advisors, or between advisors and clients. It’s the local guide who brings a destination to life, and it’s the people we meet along the way who can make a trip even more memorable than the destination itself.

We partner with travel suppliers who make travel easier for everyone, but ultimately, it’s about making the experience better for the traveller.
Those connections within our industry are valuable gems. They’re part of what makes working with a travel advisor so worthwhile — having people behind the scenes who know the destinations, know the suppliers, and care about helping create an amazing trip.

Why wouldn’t you want that for your vacation investment?

Bula! Tourism Fiji put on one of the most educational and inspiring training event today in Calgary that left us all yearning to go visit. With direct flights from Vancouver to Nadi three times week, and a code share partnership with WestJet for connections, Fiji is definitely a lot closer than before for a true paradise beach vacation.

You will want to visit as it’s great as a stopover visit to Australia or New Zealand, or a stand-alone vacation in itself! The Fijian dollar holds up well in value for us Canadians and it’s English-speaking, so nothing is lost in translation.

Happiness truly exudes from the Fijians who welcome you with open arms and familial hospitality that make everyone feel special. The views, the waters and the stunning experiences underneath will blow your mind. Another place that’s on my list to visit and if it’s on yours, let me know how I can help!

By now, you’ve likely seen Muse pop up in your feed. Perhaps it’s as a personal trainer, or for me, it showed up as a travel agent. Probably because my feed is heavily travel-focused lol!

Today is World Tourism Day and the theme this year is all about AI and how technology and artificial intelligence fits in with travel planning and tourism.

AI is the talk of town. For so many industries and for so many tasks and jobs. Does it make life easier? Yes. No doubt. We definitely have our work cut out for us.

But at the end of the day, do you trust AI to book your trips for you?
Do you trust AI with an itinerary that may look good on paper, but doesn’t includes the nuances of the logistics and planning to make things go seamless?
Do you trust AI with real-time solutions to help you when you have questions, issues or concerns?

As a travel advisor, I’m not worried. I understand clients will turn to AI to help them with decisions. AI has never been about finding information. Google did that long before AI!

But it’s the human side of travel that we can never replace and never overlook. Because it’s not more information we need. It’s someone who can help make sense of the information, and tell you what you need to know for your trip, your family, and your goals.

Let me handle the logistics, the details and the “what-ifs” and you can focus on the fun of travel planning!

As a travel advisor, I help remove some of the fear of the unknown and instead move you towards the curiosity of the unknown, which is a more exciting place to inhabit!

That’s always been the goal. ♥️

One evening of Moroccan food, hospitality and learning about the destination was enough to make me curious — and suddenly my travel advisor brain was already planning the itinerary. 😂

Who else has Morocco on their list to visit? If you have been before, tell me what you loved the most?

Travel Market Place Calgary 2026.

What an amazing 2 days! It was full of connection, inspiration, motivation and conversation around our travel businesses and the trends that are taking shape. It is these events that allow us to connect with new suppliers and reinforce trade relationships so that we can all work together to bring out the best of travel to consumers.

I truly love being in this industry and the connections and opportunities we have to bring travel to our clients so you can have the best experiences possible.

Move over Japan and Italy! Morocco is in the centre of the world (literally haha!) and is the number 1 destination in Africa. It has been on an upward trend as a new gem of a destination in the last couple of weeks and travellers are starting to discover why.

I was fortunate enough to enjoy a “Taste of Morocco” dinner at Casbah Restaurant hosted by the National Moroccan Tourism Office and I’m so intrigued! With a large diversity in experiences, Morocco has a deep history and culture. It offers both beach and desert experiences, and a diverse landscape to discover.

This is why I love attending events like these, and showing up for all the supplier and destination events regularly. The more I learn, the more I can bring back to you - my clients. We all have different reasons and goals for travel and destinations that are gaining momentum can offer experiences that you may not otherwise know. It’s these connections and details that may not show up online when you’re simply searching on your own.

Morocco…..you definitely have my attention and you’ve officially made it onto my travel radar. Anyone else have Morocco on their list?

Do you need a vacation… or do you actually need a trip? 🤔✈️

As a travel advisor, I ask people what they want all the time. But maybe the more important question is: **what do you actually need right now?**

My latest piece on *Beyond the Destination* is about vacations, trips, the guilt we sometimes feel about both, and my own inability to sit still for very long. 😂

**So… vacation or trip? Which one do you need?**

You better Belize it! It’s more than just a sunny destination.

I was at a Travel Belize presentation in Calgary last night, and it got me thinking: why isn’t Belize higher on the list when Canadians are planning their winter escape?

You want sun and beach, but time for exploring, adventure and activity. Belize may not be what comes to top of mind, but it should!

Just south of Mexico and east of Guatemala, it’s a small English-speaking country that is easy to explore without the tourist crowds of other popular Caribbean destinations.

You can explore ancient Mayan archeological sites, UNESC0-protected marine reserves, go cave tubing or zip line through the jungle. Or you can slow things down with ecological tours and experience the culture and community of a small mainland island.

Love to snorkel? Belize is home to the Belize Barrier Reef, the largest in the Northern Hemisphere, second largest in the world after Australia. Want to go deeper? You can get certified and go scuba diving to experience the beauty of the deep ocean waters.

And then, the food! Enjoy fresh seafood and the catch of the day in your daily meals for cuisine that is made from scratch and distinctly farm-to-table and sea-to-table!

Belize has the reef, the ruins and real culture. All within a 5+ hour flight, direct from Calgary (and soon Winnipeg with seasonal service starting December!).

So if you are looking for something a bit different this year for your winter escape, let’s talk more about Belize! I promise you it has everything you want and it’s closer than you think!
