Springbank Airport is a reliever airport for Calgary International Airport and is operated by the Calgary Airport Authority under long term lease from the Federal Government. Located in Rocky View County west of the City of Calgary, it is the closest certified aerodrome to Banff National Park.

Behind the scenes at YBW Springbank Airport 🚹 In celebration of Canadian Airports Safety Week, we’re spotlighting our annual emergency exercise — a critical part of keeping our operations safe and resilient.

This year’s scenario: a simulated helicopter emergency on the taxiway. The objective? To ensure our teams and emergency responders are ready to act quickly, safely, and collaboratively when every second counts.

💡 Did you know? Calgary Airports proudly manages both YYC Calgary International Airport and YBW Springbank Airport, working year-round to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable operations for our community.

Exercises like these help us practice real-world emergency response, strengthen coordination and communication and build teamwork across multiple agencies

The greatest show (and shine) on earth is coming to YBW, thanks to our friends the Calgary Flying Club! đŸ€ âœˆđŸŽ Join us July 9 for CFC’s Stampede Breakfast and Wings & Wheels Show n’ Shine. Come for the free pancakes, stay for the aircraft and unique rides! Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the CFC’s hangar.
