Wordy post alert! Wasn’t that a party!? Saturday was perfect. I couldn’t count how many times I heard that. It was perfect. The weather, the airplanes, the corn, the laughs, the folks that gathered to make it such a special event, the surprise guests that made our day!
Friends and family and birthday cake. Surprised Phyllis with a celebration that included her brother, her sister and a niece. She had a magical day.
Bob and Shane ended the day with the best fireworks show yet and a night flight from Ryan. The laughs around the firepit were plenty and hearty and full of joy. It had that “I don’t want it to end” feeling. I guess after the hell that was July, we were finding all the moments pretty precious.
Much gratitude to Ted and Louise too, for not just his amazing photography that he shares with us, but also everything he does to keep it organized. Thank you to our prep crew that had the site looking top notch, you know who you are. And John for organizing some great firewood that will keep us warm for a few events! A PS thanks too, for a couple people close to us that made sure we had some delicious food in the fridge. What a blessing and a joy to be a part of this.

Holy smokes it’s August. Seems like summer just started! Corn Roast 2026 is coming up soon! The weekend of the 15th. Not going to jinx anything with weather talk. 🤞 We can share that mosquitoes are a tolerable level. Not gone. But nothing like the attack we had in July!!! Weather permitting fireworks will happen on the Saturdays night is the current plan.
