Convention Wednesday will be full of important information and discussions!

Attendees will hear updates from Transport Canada and hear insight from the Blue Ribbon Panel.

However, if attendees are representing a small airport or aerodrome, they are cordially invited to the Small Airports and Aerodromes Committee session that afternoon! Discussion will be lead by Chairwoman Marion Smith and expert speakers are lined up.

Our hearts and thoughts are with Mike, Brenda, their family, and the entire staff after hearing the devastating news about the restaurant fire.

We hope that, in time, they’ll be able to rebuild and once again create the special place where friends, family, and the community can come together.

We’re looking forward to hearing some great stories from Mike along the way—and hopefully sharing many more good times in the future.

This weekends special: House-Made Corn Chowder!
With soup-season on its way in and summer on its way out, we found this would be the perfect transition.

A hearty bowl of corn chowder made with locally picked sweet corn garnished with tortilla strips, charred corn, chives, and drizzled with a toasted corn-infused oil. (GF)

We have lost another great member of our airport community. ✈️
Shawn was a valued part of our aviation family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him.🙏

Robert “Shawn” Butler, a resident of Florence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia at the age of 55. He is predeceased by his mother Lois (McLennan) Butler and lovingly remembered by his father Lonnie Butler (Sharen). He leaves behind his brothers Chris (Jennifer), Jeff (Karissa) and Joel (Debbie) and his niece and nephews, Nick, Emily and Gregg. Shawn was a special person who brought his own unique personality, laughter and friendship to the lives of those around him. He will be fondly remembered by his Aunt Linda and Uncle Harold as well as his extended family and friends, especially by the members of the "Friday Night Club" - Mark, Mark, Jim and Adam, who shared many good times, laughs and memories with Shawn over the years. Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St, Dresden on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Shetland Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Kidney Foundation or St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com
