Hey there my armchair adventurers, hope you're all doing well and staying safe. I know a lot us aren't really thinking about travel right now, but when our big beautiful world opens back up, we'll want to be ready to see it! Plus, I'm a little Coronavirused out right now, and in need of good news and great places to keep me going! So that said, I'm going to take this time to keep training and learning about new destinations, so when we're all ready, we can decide where we want to go and head out together! Because I'm gonna need a serious vacay after all this :)

Hey fellow travelers, it seems you can't swing a stick these days without hitting a news report on the Coronavirus. There is a ton of information out there on where you can and shouldn't go... It's hard to know what's real and what's fearmongering. The government of Canada has a website with all the travel info you need re: Coronavirus, including health risks, and how best to protect yourself while traveling. If you are going away, perhaps for March break, you can also sign up with Canadians Abroad Registration, a free service that lets the Government of Canada notify you in case of an emergency, either at home or during a natural disaster or civil unrest. If you have any further questions or concerns, talk to your travel agent. Travel safe, everyone.

Cape Breton, though stunning regardless of season, is particularly beautiful in the fall. Now that THAT'S out of my system, guess who's opening a pop-up hotel, complete with "Bell" hops, hot sauce floaties and more? If you guessed Taco Bell, you totally guessed right. If you're 18 or older, and you're jonesin' to stay at the Taco Bell Hotel, aka The Bell, it opens August 9 in Palm Springs, California for a limited time. Reservations open in June. You're welcome, tacophiles. :)

Many thanks to Meliá Cozumel Golf - All Inclusive for the absolutely fantastic welcome. Great way to start this week’s research trip. I’ve got to say, the traditional Mayan dancers are going to be hard to top! Seriously travel peeps, the performance was breathtaking!!

Hey all, I've been a bit lax about posting during my research trip to Mexico, but I assure you I have been researching the hell out of this place! I'll post more later, but for now, a wee video from day 1, 27 April. I was at the Moon Palace Cancun, which is a wonderful resort about 10-15 minutes form Cancun Airport - nice after a long flight. Not right on the ocean, but lots of great pools and a waterpark/fun zone for the kids (and adults - lazy river tubing!). GREAT restaurants, including JC Steakhouse and Habibi. Desserts/chocolate designed and curated by renowned pastry chef Antonio Bachour - beyond tasty! HUGE shout out to the lovely and talented Sharon Palace Wilson for putting the trip together. This resort does not disappoint: incredible food, fantastic, comfy accommodations (beds are amazing, premium liquor dispenser and snack drawer!) and the friendliest staff I've ever had the pleasure of meeting!
