HIRING COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT AND/OR HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

Reliance Ventures is a privately owned chemical and fluid hauling company based in Fort St. John, BC. We service North Eastern BC and Northern Alberta with our fleet of Tank Trucks. We are currently seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team.
Reliance Ventures offers very competitive wages, benefits package, and room for advancement.

General Job Duties:

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all company equipment
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Work with shop foreman on timelines and demands to ensure companies goals are met

Requirements:
• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Certificate
• Valid Class 5 License (minimum), Class 1 or 3 License will be considered an asset
• Strong aptitude of technical and mechanical repairs
• Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Integrity and reliability, willing to accept after hour calls when necessary
• Willing and able to test and pass industry required drug and alcohol screening

• Chaining up tires when required
• Participating fully in job observations, near miss and HID reporting, site inspections, weekly and monthly safety meetings, and tailgate meetings
• Identifying and mitigating safety hazards
• Loading and unloading of bulk fluids into trucks and bulk storage tanks

Qualifications Required:
• Valid Class 1or 3 driver’s license
• Preferred 3 Years driving experience
• Possess safety tickets including but not limited to First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and H2S Alive
