Ride the FREE bus to the provincial election voting place at the Lions Hall this Saturday, Oct. 24th. The special election day bus schedule is attached, along with the regular weekday and weekend schedule.

WEEKDAYS
Galiano’s electric community bus provides early morning transit service from Monday through Thursday. The morning run from north Galiano south to Sturdies Bay transports students to meet the school water taxi, along with other islanders going to work or catching the first ferry to Vancouver. The bus operates a return run north departing from Sturdies Bay in the early evening, from Monday to Friday. Check the schedule for times.

WEEKENDS
On Saturday mornings, the bus meets the ferries and runs a loop route around south Galiano. If requested in advance, the bus will also operate runs between north Galiano and Sturdies Bay to connect to the ferries. On Sundays, if requested the bus will make a run south to meet the late afternoon ferry departures to Vancouver and Victoria.

As well as the regular stops listed on the schedule, the bus driver can add extra stops on, or branching from, the main routes, based on requests from riders. Similarly, pickups at other locations can be added if they are requested in advance by email ([email protected]).

FARES
Regular bus fare is $5, and fare-saver sets of 10 tickets can be purchased for $35 (email [email protected] for details).

Ride the bus to the Blackberry Tea this Saturday!

WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Galiano's electric community bus provides a transit service on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings according to the attached schedule. The bus meets the BC ferry arrivals noted on the schedule. The fare to ride the bus is $5.

The bus makes several scheduled stops at the outdoor Market at the Lions Field on Saturdays. The bus will also operate on Sunday afternoons if requested by email to [email protected] by Saturday evening.

OPTIONAL STOPS
As indicated on the map, the South End Route is a circular loop. Adjacent to the loop are optional stops at Sticks Allison, the Golf Course (Ellis Rd), and the Library. Riders on board the bus can ask the driver to be dropped off at these stops, or other locations along the route where it is safe to stop. If you would like to be picked up at any of these optional stops, please email your request to [email protected] well in advance.

Please also note that all the stops on the North End Route on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are optional, and will be made only if requested by an on-board rider, or if there is a request for a pickup at these stops sent to [email protected] well in advance.

The bus leaves the Cook Road intersection (North Galiano Fire Hall) with Porlier Pass Road at 6:48 am, and makes scheduled stops at the Cottage Way, McClure Road, and Montague-Clanton intersections, and Daystar Market on Georgeson Bay Road, before arriving at Sturdies Bay at 7:20 am. The bus will pick-up anywhere along Porlier Pass Road, Montague Road, Georgeson Bay Road, or Sturdies Bay Road where it is safe to stop.

The bus also meets the return school water taxi at Sturdies Bay at 5:30 pm on school days, and transports students back up island. Members of the public are welcome to board this bus for the usual $5 fare.

Galiano's electric community bus will be operating this Friday afternoon and Saturday morning according to the attached schedule, and will meet the ferries arriving then.

The bus makes several stops at the outdoor Market at the Lions Field on Saturdays. The bus will also operate on Sunday afternoons if requested by sending an email to [email protected] as far in advance as possible, ideally the day before. Regular fare is $5.
