THE GVLC LOUNGE IS REMAINING OPEN.
That was the "once more for the cheap seats," since we have been getting questions
Only the manufacturing side (Hard Shot Vodka, Writers & Rocks Vodka, Coffee Liqueur etc.) is closing. Products will continue to sell off at Manitoba Liquor Marts (MBLL), liquor vendors, and from the lounge through the end of 2026 or until stock is depleted.
So next time someone at the coffee shop says that GVLC is closing down, bet them a cocktail that they are incorrect and bring them out on a Thursday or Friday to prove your point 😉

1. I asked the Liquor Mart for some Hot Shot Vodka and they said it’s all gone, but you’re saying it’s available?
--It was always Hard Shot, not Hot Shot. I get it, we named it wrong.
--Hard Shot Vodka 750mL (26oz) has been discontinued for a while. The 1.14L (40oz) was only ever available as Special Order for licensees like golf courses. The 375mL (mickey) is available at the lounge but was never accepted by MBLL for regular stock.
--The Manitoba Liquor warehouse is depleted of Hard Shot Vodka 1.75L (60oz). Whatever is on the shelf is what remains. There is still availability through the GVLC lounge.
--Writers & Rockers Vodka, our premium version, is widely available: https://www.liquormarts.ca/product/writers-rockers-vodka/750-ml Please consider grabbing some from MBLL and introducing the final release version to your friends over the spring and summer!
--Hard Shot Orange Liqueur and Hard Shot Coffee Liqueur remain available at the lounge until we relinquish our retail license at the end of 2026, or stock becomes completely depleted. We will not be manufacturing any more.
2. Are you selling _______ item from the warehouse? I want to buy it.
--We are selling off the bottling line, density meter, and bulk inventory (bottles, corks, closures, US liquor inventory). At the moment we are following up on leads with a number of other distilleries, brokers, manufacturers, and investors. Unless you are interested in purchasing entire sections of the above, we are not interested in piecing them off as of yet.
--We are not selling anything from the lounge (aside from merchandise and retail stock as advertised), nor from the building in general (pumps, shipping containers, etc.)
--We are not selling the building and/or lounge, however everything has its price. All SERIOUS offers for the real estate, company shares, and/or capital assets will be considered, but please do not waste our time. You are talking closer to 7 figures at that point.
--Depending on how asset sales proceed, there might be an auction later. We will make the public aware of any such process, since it is in our best interest to have many bidders!
3. Are you still donating to events or community groups?
--Aside from some pre-arranged events that had been discussed prior to our decision to stop manufacturing, no, we will not be able to make donations at this time.
--Pierce and Amy continue to donate to the community through the Grandview Pharmacy, so any requests should be directed there.
4. Why are you stopping manufacturing? Hard Shot is my favourite!
--Thank you, ours too. We truly appreciate the support over the years, we just needed a lot more of it overall to make the venture viable. If you are reading this, you probably did your part.
5. Will you ship me some Hard Shot?
--Probably not. We are quite busy dealing with the stressful closure of the manufacturing side. While we appreciate the request, please have your friends or family come to purchase what you need and then deal with the shipping. Thank you for your understanding.
