Sometimes it’s the little things that become your favorite travel memories.
While vacationing in Costa Rica, we met a lovely couple at our resort. During one of our excursions, we stopped for lunch at a local restaurant. As we sat down to eat, they reached for a bottle of something we’d never seen before and said, “You have to try this!”
It was Lizano Sauce.
One taste, and we understood why Costa Ricans love it. Lizano is a unique blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors with a hint of spice. It’s not hot sauce—it’s a flavor enhancer that’s delicious on rice, beans, meats, eggs, fries, and just about everything else.
It’s amazing how something as simple as a bottle of sauce can become such a memorable part of a trip. Now, whenever we see Lizano or use it at home, we’re instantly transported back to the lush landscapes, warm hospitality, and incredible food of Costa Rica.
That’s one of the things I love most about travel. It’s not just the beaches, waterfalls, or wildlife—it’s the unexpected moments, the people you meet, and the local traditions that stay with you long after you’ve returned home.
