Have you gone birdwatching on your travels? What destination was your favourite?

African Safaris don't have to be only about the big animals! Don't forget about the birds!

Most people head to Africa to see large animals in the wild, but we often forget about the smaller and equally fascinating birdlife!

If you are interested in both a traditional safari and birding, Botswana might just be the sweet spot!

🪶 With habitats that vary from desert to wetlands you'll have the opportunity to view species (bird and otherwise) that thrive in each area.

🪶 For serious birders, you can take specialized birding tours by boat, safari truck or on foot that concentrate solely on birdlife. With the right connections, you'll find yourself walking through the bush with ornithologists and specialized guides who know more about birds than you could ever imagine!

🪶 For those who aren't serious birders, but have a keen interest, make sure to let you safari guide know. Many of them are highly skilled in bird calls, both recognizing and repeating them, helping them determine the species and locate them in the bush. They'll watch for birds along with the bigger animals and point them out for you.

🪶 If you are not a birder at all, you might be surprised. I fell in love with birds when I visited Botswana. They are plentiful, colourful and the knowledge of my guides about their patterns, nests and songs was fascinating!

Kingfishers, Beeaters and the Jesus Bird were my favourites in Botswana. Swipe through the photos to see a few of my favourites.

We love a good-humored client and we love building relationships with clients that allow us all to have a chuckle & be ourselves.

We really appreciated this feedback from clients that we’re currently working on a retirement trip to New Zealand, Australia & Fiji for. And we’re happy to save them money & sanity … without divorce lawyers!

“I don’t come on here often as I figure it’s easier for you to have just one spokesperson, but I wanted to express my appreciation for everything you’ve done for us. I’m blown away by your responsiveness and your attention to detail. There’s no way we could’ve done this on our own. And I hear that divorce is expensive, so you’re also saving us money!!”

Trip planning can be stressful! Don’t let it put the wrong kind of kink in your marriage!

I’m sure you’ve seen the iconic picture of the richly painted The Temple Bar in Dublin. No doubt if you’ve been to Dublin you’ve likely stopped in for a pint here or your friends have told you it is the ‘must see’ spot in the city. When I visited Dublin, I learned the secrets and ... Rea...

Nkasa Rupara is an extraordinary piece of wilderness waiting to be explored. Lush marshes, expansive savannah, and high river reeds. This untouched paradise is truly Namibia's hidden wetland gem! If you could spend a day in Nkasa Rupara, what would be at the top of your wildlife wish list? https://youtu.be/icq8ZmO3q3g?si=MQ1oGivlR_Cpi5h1

I spent the better part of three years as a digial nomad, moving from place to place and then staying for three months in Istanbul. I decided I needed my hair done and instead of asking my local contacts for recommendations, I just walked in to a place that wasn't busy .... here's the story - A Girl and her hair https://lovethewayyoutravel.com/a-girl-and-her-hair/

One of our clients got an email this morning saying she had $1,610 in expiring airline credit.

Her airline "wallet" showed zero.

She was confused. We were confused. The math from her original ticket change last October didn't line up with what the airline was saying today.

So we spent the next few hours being a travel detective - digging through old emails, finding the original notes, and piecing together what happened when her flights got rescheduled. Ticket validity rules, change fees, partial credits, wallet transfers... it got complicated fast.

Turns out it was probably an error on the airline's end. The email is likely incorrect and shouldn't have been sent. Does the airline care? Nope! Is it going to get fixed? Nope!

But here's the thing: our client didn't have to spend her Friday afternoon on hold with a call centre. She sent us the screenshots, we did the digging, and we figured it out together.

No one books a trip thinking they'll need a forensic accountant for their flight credits. But when you do, it's nice to have someone who already knows your whole travel history.

What's the most confusing travel problem you've ever had to solve on your own?
