Sometimes things just happen unexpectedly, and they make you realize that folks appreciate the job we do.

Mr. Erv Riemer is from up in Minaki and the streets of that little community are one of Tyson’s snowplow routes we’ve looked after for quite a few years now.
Erv dropped off this wood carving yesterday, and messaged us to say “appreciate the great plowing you guys do in Minaki”.
Thanks so much Sir, for the kind gesture, it’s much appreciated.

Yahoo, got thru THURSDAY and we are taking a little mid summer break this weekend.
We will be closed from now Thursday 5pm until Tuesday morning 9 am.
We are completely out of ICE until approx. 2 pm tomorrow and there will be 80 bags of ice in the Ice Freezer outside at the corner of the shop.
It’s is not locked and we go on the honour system. A bag of ice is $4 @ , and there is a honour box on the front of the freezer you can but your payment in.
The same goes for ramp fees, $10 in and $10 out , and the is an honour box on the sign at the bottom of the hill.
Same thing applies for extra car parking, $10 per day and you can put payment in the honour box in between the shop front walk in doors.
We do have live cameras everywhere on the property monitoring things.
So smile, and have a fun, safe, enjoyable long weekend everyone, and remember there is a RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE in effect, so absolutely no burning at all.

Picked up another boat in already for storage and stopped at Clearwater Bay Market and Ty got a Truckers breakfast sandwich and I got a Denver.
They were delicious.

Happy Easter folks. It’s finally starting to feel and look a little more like Spring. Temps are getting a little warmer, snow in the bush is not as deep and there isn’t must snow on the lakes.
Once we got our ice roads in off of our landing they were busy. Lots of construction going on around the lake with new docksbuilds, rebuilds of cottages that were lost during the Indian Island fire, folks coming and climbing the Ice Cliffs, fishermen out trying to catch a couple, and then cottagers just coming out to their places to get away and enjoy the winter.

There is still plenty of ice (36+”) but the beginning of the road, and a couple of other spots got pretty punched out when we had those really warm days. Some vehicles were having a lot of trouble getting thru them and some didn’t and were stuck. So only the contractors trucks along with ATV’s,UTV’s and Snowmobiles who know the conditions are out on the ice.
We are looking forward to Spring showing her face a bit more and we are starting to switch into Summer mode at the Marina.
Already have some gravel to spread on driveway and parking areas, we’r getting the shop ready for boat work instead of our Plow trucks, but we have only removed 2 blades off of our 6 plow trucks just incase Mother Nature dumps some more snow on us still. (We have plowed in April and early May before).
So, this is a small update from Norie, Tyson and I.
We will do our ice reports again so folks who are water access have an idea when they can get to their places.
Hope to See everyone soon.

Not to bad, 1.5 hrs to remove a broken BOSS plow main frame and install a new one. That is the third one I’ve broken in 15 yrs.
Back on the road again.

Thanks Welder Clint for picking the new one up while you were in Winnipeg. Much appreciated buddy.

A quick trip to Thunder Bay yesterday, picked up uncle Rick in Dryden and off we went to get a Boss snowplow for the new truck.
Another one added to our small fleet of 6 Ford Super Duty’s with BOSS Snowplows.

And no we don’t want snow yet as we still have some diehard customers that don’t want their boats out yet, but it won’t be long before we see the white stuff falling and the winter part of our business will be busy.
