There’s so much more to do at Big White Ski Resort than just hitting the slopes! Here are our favourite things to do at Big White that aren’t skiing. From snowmobiling and dog sledding to winter fat biking, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and tubing at Happy Valley, there are plenty of ways to enjoy a winter day on the mountain without strapping on a pair of skis! 🏔️

📍 Revelstoke Mountain Resort
Revelstoke Mountain Resort offers approximately 45% advanced and expert terrain and is famous for having the largest lift-serviced vertical drop in North America at 1,713 metres (5,620 feet). With steep runs, big powder days, and incredible alpine terrain, it’s a favourite among advanced skiers.

📍 SilverStar Mountain Resort
SilverStar Mountain Resort is a bit of a hidden gem among B.C. ski resorts, with a dedicated backside known as Putnam Creek that’s packed with advanced and expert terrain. If you’re looking for steep runs and challenging terrain, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

If you’re an advanced skier looking for that backcountry skiing feel at a resort, this is the spot for you. When open, Greely Bowl offers amazing views and some pretty epic terrain, while the Ripper Chair offers a great variety of runs for intermediate skiers.

📍 Big White Ski Resort
Big White Ski Resort earns its spot in our top 3 thanks to its diverse terrain, beautiful scenery, and famous ‘snow ghosts,’ where the trees get coated in thick layers of snow, making them look like something straight out of an animated movie. With epic tree skiing and runs suited for all ski levels, it’s one of our favourite family-friendly ski resorts in B.C. For advanced terrain, check out Cliff Chair. Beginners will love the Plaza Chair, while intermediate skiers should check out Ridge Rocket Express and Gem Lake Express.

📍 SilverStar Mountain Resort
SilverStar Mountain Resort is more of a hidden gem among ski resorts in British Columbia, offering amazing steep terrain on the backside and a wide mix of runs on the front side. Advanced skiers will love exploring the backside, while beginners and intermediate skiers have plenty of terrain to enjoy on the front side of the mountain. Add in the colourful ski village, beautiful mountain views, and some pretty amazing powder days, and it’s easy to see why this spot makes our top 3. And on a sunny day? This place is easily one of the most beautiful in the region. 🏔️
