About the piece: Inspired by my grandmother’s love for antiques, my grandfather’s love for plants, and their mutual love for a good cup of tea, 'Rose Tea Set' was designed for a relaxed afternoon tea in the garden. The floral motif and form of the set reference antique dishes given to me by my grandmother, while the bold carved lines of the sgraffito design reflect the hardy, native, Canadian wild roses featured on the mug. 'Rose Tea Set' aims to bridge the gap between formal English tea traditions and the way many Canadians enjoy drinking tea today – in a big cozy mug!
