HOLY WEEK is a reminder that GOD can do a lot in a WEEK! Just because you’re in a difficult moment right now doesn’t mean the week is over! Jesus rode into jerusalem on a donkey praised with palm branches on monday. Then was betrayed by one of his closest friends wednesday night. Then thursday had a last supper with his friends right before he was arrested.
Then friday the same crowd that cheered for him a few days prior had now turned against him shouting “crucify him!” Crowds are fickle like that- they can change fast.
But Jesus was not moved by the crowd! He stayed focused on the mission. He was beaten, bruised, given a crown of thorns crushed into his head, and later died on a cross that friday afternoon. On Saturday it was dark and silent in Israel and in that tomb... But always remember that there is no resurrection without a crucifixion. If it looks dark right now in your own life, Jesus isn’t finished with your story! Sunday’s coming! A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN A WEEK!!! This is my sermon title this weekend as we read the scriptures of Jesus’ final week! Come join us as we take communion, pray for healing, and remember what Jesus did on holy week 2000 years ago as he went to the cross for the sins of all mankind to set us free, to forgive our sins, to save our souls, to give us hope, to restore what was stolen in Eden, and to conquer the grave!!!
