Happy Twosday! I've decided to upload all our old trips to YouTube because when I first did them, they didn't allow licensed music. And for our first trip together (way back in 2010), this one was pretty epic (though back then I didn't take much video so this is basically a long slideshow lol). It was my first time to the Caribbean, Bryan's first time in the Carib away from all-inclusive resorts, our first time scuba diving, our first time at a n**e beach (we snuck a photo of us at 1:08), the first time we were mistaken for brothers (actually twins!). BUT it wasn't the first time that people were surprised to find out that we're gay! Go to 7:53 for the hilarious Australian and that story.

And a little side story, we had wanted to go to Saba as well which is fairly close to St. Maarten, but the docks had been damaged and the boats weren't active, and the planes also weren't being scheduled when we had left. BUT when we landed we tried again and managed to book a flight (just a 15 minute flight to the shortest runway in the world). And we're so glad we did. People rarely go to Saba as there are really no beaches since it's basically a big 13 square kilometre volcano with a population of less than 2,000. But it's a major diving destination as a 40 m dive is accessible very close to shore (and thus was our first and honestly pretty scary first dive ever). It also has gorgeous hiking and one of the best places we've ever stayed in the ecolodge (just a step above camping, and it was awesome).

So this was the beginning of our love for the Caribbean, and we can't wait to go back. Seeing the planes land at Maho Beach was a big bucket list moment too! If you have any questions about it please let us know!

There be whales here! From November to April humpbacks come to this bay in Puerto Vallarta to give birth and rear their young. And luckily you can see them right from the beach!

A trip video! What?! Yes, we actually went on a trip! And having watched all our trip vids over the pandemic has taught us that the best way to hold on to those memories is to do fun little vids like this.

We decided to do something easy, and Puerto Vallarta is a quick 4.5 hour direct flight and, most importantly, WARM! Anyway, a couple new friends of ours who we met on the plane said they were doing a hike with a guy they knew in PV, CurielXperience, so I invited us along, lol. And I'm so glad I did! The difficulty is described as "medium - high" but I mean... Just have a look at some of what we had to do. "Medium-high" to us means a walk in the park; we're the kind of hikers who did the Grand Canyon rim to river and back in one day despite all the warnings of people who died trying. But walking in the park this was not. Bryan was a bit scared at times, while the only time I was actually scared was the swimming part, lol. STILL can't swim to save my life, literally. Sink like a stone, even with a life jacket on dammit.

But this was a fantastic hike and a great way to get into the jungle. While we expected a typical resort town, the kind of which we always avoid, Puerto Vallarta is a real thriving city with everything we love - beaches, hiking, nightlife, culture, and friendly people. And we can't wait to go back!

We hope everyone's great out there! Let us know if you have any questions.

This hike was no joke. The entire trip was no joke! We had no idea what to expect with our first trip in nearly 2 years. We decided to do something easy, and...

We made it to the end of the world! Well not really, but we did make it to the tip of the country. This is the southern most point of mainland Canada. It’s amazing just how big Lake Erie is, and it’s the smallest (by volume) of the Great Lakes! No wonder we have 20% of the world’s freshwater in this province. The lake on east side of the point is very cold whereas the water on the west is very warm. We’re sure there’s a reason but we’re too lazy to look it up right now. I wonder if we should go to the other tips of Canada? Is that a goal people have?

We did our part for the environment by feeding mosquitoes! Aren’t we selfless?! Yup we spent about 4 hours (and probably pints) hiking in the wilderness to feed the hungry. I mean, we can’t all be heroes, but every little bit counts right? And we rewarded ourselves with a relaxing dip in the lake. How do you like my noodle? 😂

Some shots of our first few days in Ontario cottage country. So envious of people who own cottages up here! Gorgeous nature and lovely warm lakes to swim and canoe in. Without millions there’s no chance of us ever owning up here, so for now we’ll just spend thousands in rent lol. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂
