🚨 We’re Hiring Tow Truck Drivers! 🚨

Qualifications:
* Looking for experienced operators with Class 5 and air brakes (preferred) but willing to train the right individual.
* Class 3 and 1 is a bonus!
* Must have a clean drivers abstract & criminal record
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Being able to work as a team and independently
* excellent communication skills and customer service

Job consists of:
• Operating tow truck, winch’s, boosts, unlocks, tire changes and fuel deliveries.
• This is a on call 24/7 job with requiring you to be ready with a quick notice. Being on call after hours and some weekends. (Requested days off)
•Inspection of truck and perform truck service and maintenance.
•Working in adverse weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time, permanent position
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Start date: As soon as possible

FIRE CALL - Motor Vehicle Collision: Highway 897 North

At 5:46 p.m. EC911 Dispatch received multiple calls of a head on collision on Highway #897 between Township Road 514 and 520. Marwayne Fire & Rescue, Kitscoty Fire Department and County #9-6 (Ops O Armitage) were dispatched alongside members of the Kitscoty Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta and Medavie Health Services West - Northeast Alberta EMS.

Arriving firefighters found a pick-up truck with extensive damage, and one patient in need of urgent medical care. Crews stabilized the scene, set up traffic control (including detours), while providing medical assistance and fire overwatch.

A Voyent Alert was issued by our Emergency Management Division and Alberta 511 was updated to reflect the highway closure.

One patient was transported by ambulance to Lloydminster. The RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

"All crews worked in extreme cold conditions under difficult circumstances" stated Kirk Hughes, Director of Protective Services for the County of Vermilion River and County Fire Chief, "we want to extend our thanks to our community partners that responded and to the bystanders that stopped to render initial aid. Their actions made a difference this evening."

By 1 a.m. Marwayne Captain Brett Johnston advised that Central Towing and Recovery Ltd. had removed the involved vehicle and the highway was re-opened.
