1200T Railway Update
We want to provide a further update on the situation with our 1200T railway.
Since our last update, we have successfully stabilized the vessel in its current position. We are continuing to work closely with the vessel owners and insurance representatives to determine the next steps, which will likely include leveling the vessel and conducting a full assessment of her condition to guide future decisions.
The vessel is currently stable and has sustained minimal damage. We are working closely with the vessel owners and insurance representatives to determine the best path forward and develop a clear plan for next steps.
Our top priority is safety. We’re grateful that no one was in harm’s way at the time of the incident, and we are taking every precaution to ensure there is no risk moving forward. At the same time, we are focused on protecting the environment, making sure there are no impacts, and that every action we take now and in the future improves both our operations and our environmental footprint.
We are also consulting and working closely with all necessary regulatory agencies, including the Canadian Coast Guard, DFO, DNR, and Transport Canada, and we sincerely appreciate their guidance and support throughout this process.
A special thank you as well to Gerhardt’s for their support on-site, including supplying gravel and equipment, their team has been a great help in stabilizing the area.
We sincerely appreciate the support from everyone involved, along with the continued encouragement from the community.
Sometimes, it takes an unexpected storm to force a vessel to chart a new course….. one that leads to stronger foundations, better systems, and a safer journey ahead. This moment, while challenging, is an opportunity for us to do exactly that.
