Trot In Time Carriage Tours Ltd.

Trot In Time Carriage Tours Ltd. Tours run daily May to October in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We hope to see you on a tour soon! Our churches are some of the oldest in North America.

Your 35-minute tour leaves from the waterfront and goes up to the top of our beautiful town and down again via a different route. We weave our way back and forth through the streets of Lunenburg so the horses can avoid the steep hills. The town of Lunenburg has more than three hundred historic homes dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Lunenburg Academy, our famous "castle-on-the-hill" scho

ol, dates back to 1895 and the view from its location is absolutely breathtaking. Our drivers' commentary will keep you on the edge of your seat with all sorts of historical and community information. But we have the most fun sharing legends and special stories. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed. The tour is very laid back. It is not uncommon to meet some of the local folks along the way and, from time to time, they too will have a story to tell. We are so proud that people often describe our tour as a "must do" activity - for both visitors and locals! Please join us for fun and memories you won't soon forget. We welcome the opportunity to be your guide to our wonderful town of Lunenburg.

Christine and Pete - a fine looking pair!

Chris is a longtime face on the Lunenburg waterfront, having graced us with her presence, bad jokes, and heart for well over a decade. While she can’t give tours any longer due to losing her voice, it is always a pleasure to see her behind the reigns, seeing her amazing connection with the horses, and the love she has for them.

We love you Chris! Thank you for being part of Trot In Time!

Happy Saturday! It is a beautiful though somewhat muggy day here in Lunenburg.

We will be closed for tours through the heat of the day, as the temperatures are expected to get quite warm. Everyone who has booked in for the afternoon has been contacted and tours were moved to this morning or early evening.

Congrats to all of the dory racers today - we love to see that tradition continuing!

Happy Friday! It is a bit warmer today. What does that mean for how we run the horses?

Well, right now we are engaging extra cooling and monitoring measures (thoroughly wetting down the horses between tours, monitoring how much they drink, whether they are eating hay, whether they seem to be breathing harder than normal both during the tour and standing at the waterfront box, and more). All of the horses are operating comfortably.

But even though they are comfortable still, we will be taking them home this afternoon through the heat of the day to give them and our drivers a break until late afternoon.

Have a great day all!

To the person illegally parked in our turning zone - with the traffic today and the crowds, you are making it less safe by far for the horses. This is where we turn, and how we can do the turn safely. The wagons take a large margin to turn, and with barricades on one side and illegal parking on the other, it’s making our lives more difficult.
