Happy Friday! The new crop report's out, and it was a week of both kinds of weather ☀️⛈️

The sun and heat finally moved in, fields dried up, and the crop spent the week catching up after the soggy start to July. Haying's rolling too, with the first cut coming off in good shape so far.

The other kind of weather came through last weekend. Eight tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan last Friday alone, with a few now rated EF1 and farmyards hit around Speers and Waldheim. Closer to home, the wind took down trees and roughed up crops and buildings around Carrot River. Hope everyone that got caught in it, came through alright.

Another week down means another week closer to harvest. If last year's grain still needs somewhere to go, summer's the easy time to get it on the books.

The yellow's showing up 💛

Around here, that's about when the phone starts picking up. It goes the same way every year; the closer harvest gets, the harder a truck is to find.

The summer schedule's filling in now, and the good weeks are getting spoken for. If there's grain or fertilizer that needs to move before the new crop comes off, this is the window to get it booked and off the list.

THE POSITION:
As part of our Fuel Division, you'll transport petroleum products from the refinery in Regina to businesses, farms and communities throughout Saskatchewan. Every load you deliver supports the people and industries that depend on fuel every day.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Approximately $100,000 annual earning potential
Home every day (day cab operation)
Average 11-hour shifts
Modern, well-maintained equipment
Three weeks of vacation
Health and dental benefits after a three-month probationary period

Paid training for qualified candidates

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience
Minimum 1 year of Super-B experience

If there's still grain in the bin, this is the week to deal with it 🌾

The crop's in and growing, and there's a nice long runway between now and harvest. That makes this the easiest booking window of the year. Pick the week that works for you, move it on your own schedule, and have the bins sitting empty when the new crop comes off.

Fall booking fills up quick. A load moved now is one less thing on the harvest list.

Funny how fast it turns. A month ago everybody wanted rain. Now we’d all take a dry week and a bit of sun 🌧️

It’s been a soggy stretch out here. Fields are saturated, sprayers are sitting, and there’s water standing in spots that have never seen it. For some it’s been more than a nuisance, and we’re thinking of anyone who got hit hard.

Hang in there. The crop’s in the ground, and the sun always finds its way back.

And that's a wrap on seeding 🌾

The province finished the week at 99%, with the north fully wrapped up. After a wet, late spring that fought everyone the whole way, the crop's in the ground.

It didn't come easy. About 3% of acres stayed too wet to seed, and the rain kept coming, with Foam Lake topping the province at 110 mm this week.

Seeding's behind you. Harvest is the next thing on the horizon, so it's a good time to start thinking about clearing last year's grain and making room. Whenever you're ready to move it, we're ready to haul.
