We recently moved this barn to the Leduc West Antique Society. When we got close to the site we put the real trucks to work. We hooked dad’s 1957 Canadian Kenworth on the barn for the final stretch. This truck has moved hundreds of buildings in the past. It’s was nice to see Jim McConnell pull another one with this great truck that I learned on as a kid. He had some members join in the moment with the old Ford and old Hayes trucks.

We recently lifted this former restaurant in Ponoka. The lift is to allow the owner to add a full second story and have all 3 levels have a 9’ ceiling.
Our cribs are 18’ high. Thanks to the crew for a great job.

We had a great day and better evening. During the day we played with our new toy! A new 2024 Kenworth with a Hiab folding crane. It took a long time but we finally have it.
During the evening we had a great company Christmas party.

Have any of my building mover friends found an alternative to ivory soap? The new formula is terrible.
I’m not sure I want to go with x/y rollers. So heavy!

We recently were fortunate to be part of a move to keep history alive. This was a small project but a lot of fun because of its story.
We moved the school house that the late Pete Friesen attended as a child near Provost, Alberta. For those who don’t know, Pete is renowned for being a part of some of the largest moves in North America and he helped and inspired our industry to become what it is today.
Here are some photos and articles from the move.
The group restoring the school plans on having a section of it as a shrine to Pete and his accomplishments. They are looking for support and donations so reach out to them if you’re able.

This week we moved a house and garage from Sherwood Park area to Lakedell. This one was special because it’s a house we found for our employee Austin Cummings. It’s a great house and will suit his needs perfectly.
It’s 44’ wide at the eaves and 23’ high. We moved at night most of the way avoid traffic disruptions. We turned all the lights through Nisku and had to have the crosswalk signs turned in Calmar.
A fun thing about this move is Austin pulled it himself. A great experience and he did a great job. Good luck with everything moving forward Austin and Laura!

We recently moved these 2 RTM houses from Silver Creek Homes by Camrose. We moved both at the same time to reduce costs on line lifts and railway crossing through Nisku. One went to Calmar and the other to the far side of Pigeon Lake.
Great job crew.
