Who would be interested in travelling with me on a G Adventures Tour in 2027. Time of year and cost will be dependent on the trip. Could be spring or fall. If you want to fill out this quick survey and then if I get enough people I'll put together a private group to start the conversation.

The Valley of the Kings. What a place. Only 63 tombs have been found and there are 42 unaccounted for. The last tomb found was in 2005 and before that was the Tomb of King Tut in 1922. I couldn’t believe the colours especially in the tombs of Ramses V & VI. King Tuts tomb wasn’t as ornate in painting as he died suddenly and they didn’t have the time.
The tombs I visited were the Tomb of Ramses IV, Merenptah, Ramses V & VI, Tut Ankh Amun, and Ramses III.
There are only 10 open at a time to visit and some you have to pay extra for. (Like King Tut and Ramses V & VI).
Is this on your bucket list??

All the temples! Temples of Abu Simbel, Philae Temple, Komombo Temple, Esna Temple, Temple of Hatshepsut, Karnak Temples and Luxor Temple. Stunning, enormous, colourful, magical. Egypt is so much more than the pyramids.

Our first morning of our Pyramids, Temples and the Nile tour we visited the Pyramids of Giza. To see this in person was surreal and beautiful and amazing. We even had the opportunity to go inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, walk around to see where the sun boat was buried and also to see the Sphynx. What a great way to kick off this tour.
Are you dreaming of Egypt now??

We woke up crazy early for the sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. This was my first time ever in a hot air balloon and it did not disappoint. It was quiet and serene and magical watching the sun crest on the horizon. It was beautiful seeing all the balloons in the air around us. We danced and took photos and smiled. There were 8 of us left from our trip that did this and I loved it all (maybe not the 4am alarm though)

We had to check out of our dihabiya and say goodbye to the amazing crew that took care of us before spending a full day going to the Vally of the Kings, visiting 5 tombs including the tomb of King Tut! We then went to Hatshepsut Temple, Karnok Temple and th Temple of Luxor. The enormity, beauty and history in these places is stunning and so surreal. I’ll be posting reels and more but this is just a snippet of what we saw. My phone is full of pictures and my heart is full memories and new friends made. We had to say goodbye to our group as we all head our separate ways.

Sailing down the Nile river and we stopped at Gebel el-Silsila where sandstone was extracted for many of the temples used in Ancient Egypt.
After this stop our next stop along the Nile was Esna where we visited a very colourful Esna Temple constructed in 2000BC. It was once used as a storage for cotton which ended up preserving the colours. It was so beautiful to see how the temples would have been back in their prime.
After Esna we got back in our dahabiya to sail through a lock on our way to Luxor.
Another amazing and memorable day in Egypt ❤️

Today we headed to the Philae Temple where the goddess Isis was worshipped. It is also believed to have been where th heart of Osiris was found. This temple was also the last temple built in ancient Egypt.
Like the temple in Abu Simbel, this one also had to be moved and put in higher ground and that was done from 1972-1980.
This temple was also converted to Christianity in 392BC
After lunch we headed to Kom Ombo where the temple of Sobek (the crocodile god) was worshipped. There is a crocodile museum onsite to see the mummified crocodiles that were found .
Tonight we are staying in a dahabiya (a traditional Egyptian boat) as we sail in the Nile towards Luxor.
