For Senior Travel Designer Cheri Ozimac, China was a journey of contrasts, unexpected discoveries and genuine connection.

Travelling through China, she experienced the country through a thoughtful combination of iconic landmarks, cultural encounters and time spent getting to know the people and places along the way. The seamless logistics, beautiful five-star hotels and incredible VIP access allowed her to experience each destination with ease, while the moments beyond the luxury offered a deeper connection to the country.

What does Mexican Independence Day feel like in San Miguel de Allende?

For Taylor Oliver, our Senior Travel Designer, it is a celebration that brings the entire city to life. “San Miguel de Allende is more than just a place to celebrate Mexcian Independence Day, it is the place to celebrate!”

From her stay at Casa de Sierra Nevada, Taylor experienced mariachi in the streets, local dancers and fireworks lighting up the city. Her favorite way to take it all in? “The rooftop patio at one of my favorite hotels in the city, Belmond Casa Sierra de Nevada, is the perfect place to watch the fireworks with a cocktail in hand.”

And the city’s appeal extends beyond the celebrations. “Even if you’re not there for the celebrations, the city is still such an incredible destination.” For Taylor, it is the combination of “the shopping, dining, spectacular architecture” and remarkable hotels that makes San Miguel worth returning to.

Some stays are defined by what you do. Others, by how they make you feel.

For a recent four-night stay at Villa San Michele, VP of Sales Ralph E Crawford and Director of Bespoke Experiences Gavin R Crawford found a different rhythm in the hills above Florence. Mornings began with the Duomo in view, afternoons lingered over long lunches and the pool, and evenings unfolded with aperitivo and Tuscan w**e as the city began to glow below.

The occasion was a 40th birthday, made especially memorable with a private dinner arranged within the villa. Thoughtful details, exceptional food and a setting overlooking Florence made the evening feel entirely personal.

And perhaps that is the real pleasure of Villa San Michele: Florence is right there when you want it, yet the gardens, terraces and stillness of Fiesole make it remarkably easy to stay awhile longer.

Four nights can pass quickly when there is nowhere else you would rather be.
