✨ Employee Spotlight: Carol Nilsen
This month, we're proud to recognize a remarkable member of the UVL team. With over 45 years at UVL, Carol has been so much more than a friendly face at reception. Her experience has made her an invaluable part of the company, while building genuine personal connections with Members and colleagues. Her knowledge of our people, our history, and UVL is truly invaluable.
❓ What are the key things you focus on in your position?
"Balancing my various and diverse responsibilities while making every caller, visitor, colleague, and Member feel welcome. First impressions matter, and I believe remembering someone's name or previous conversation can make all the difference in building lasting relationships."
❓ What's your favorite part of working for our Members?
"The relationships I've built with colleagues and Members across Canada. The bonds that are created over the years do not easily fade."
❓ Who or what inspires you professionally?
"The passion of the old-time movers. I have learned from so many seasoned Head Office Staff, Member Office Staff and the Drivers. Each brings their own talent and contributes to my success. The younger generations learning from the conversations at the dining room table."
❓ Which company value resonates with you the most?
“Do it right the first time. Taking an extra moment to get it right saves time in the long run. Being focused and paying attention to the smallest details can make all the difference.”
🐕 Fun fact: She raised and socialized two future Dog Guides; an experience that taught her patience and brought her immense pride.
🌿 Outside of work: She enjoys spending time with family, friends, gardening, landscaping.
