🚨 CANADA IS REBUILDING EXPRESS ENTRY — AND FUTURE APPLICANTS NEED TO PAY ATTENTION! 🇨🇦

If Express Entry is part of your Canadian PR plan, this is an update worth paying attention to. 👀

IRCC is working on a new digital system for Express Entry as Canada continues to modernize its immigration technology.

💻 What could change?

The new system is expected to introduce a more modern Expression of Interest (EOI) system for managing Express Entry applications.

IRCC’s broader modernization goals include:

✅ A smoother online experience — making it easier for applicants to navigate immigration services and manage their applications.

✅ Better access to information — applicants could have improved access to their application details and status updates.

✅ More digital self-service — reducing the need to rely on manual processes for certain services.

✅ Better system stability — modernizing older technology could help reduce technical problems and improve reliability.

✅ More automation and integration — newer technology could allow IRCC to process information and manage applications more efficiently.

⚠️ But don’t panic!

The new system does NOT mean Express Entry is closing, and applicants should not stop preparing their profiles.

IRCC has not announced a specific public launch date for the new Express Entry system yet.

There are also proposed changes to Express Entry eligibility and the CRS system being discussed separately. Those proposals should not be treated as current rules until officially implemented.

🇨🇦 What should you do now?

If you’re planning to immigrate to Canada, use this time to strengthen your profile:

📌 Take your language test.
📌 Get your ECA if required.
📌 Properly document your work experience.
📌 Check your NOC/TEER classification.
📌 Calculate your CRS score.
📌 Explore French-language opportunities and PNP options.
📌 Keep your documents and information up to date.

The technology may be changing, but preparation still matters.

💰🇨🇦 LET’S BE HONEST… HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU REALLY NEED TO SURVIVE YOUR FIRST FEW MONTHS IN CANADA?

Whether you’re planning to move to Canada or you’ve already landed and are trying to find your feet, one thing becomes very clear very quickly:

Canada can be expensive when you’re starting over. 😩🇨🇦🇨🇦

And sometimes, the money you thought would be enough… suddenly doesn’t look like enough anymore!

It’s not just about having money for your flight or meeting an immigration requirement. There are so many everyday expenses that can quietly eat into your savings.

🏠 RENT & HOUSING
Your biggest expense will likely be housing. Rent, temporary accommodation, moving costs and basic household items can take a big chunk of your savings.

🛒 GROCERIES
Food is another major expense, especially when you’re feeding a family. And those little grocery trips? They can add up VERY quickly! 😅

🚗 TRANSPORTATION
Whether you’re taking public transit, using rideshares or buying a car, getting around Canada costs money. And if you own a car, don’t forget insurance, fuel, maintenance and registration.

📱 PHONE, INTERNET & OTHER BILLS
These may seem small individually, but when rent, phone, internet, electricity and other monthly bills start coming out of your account, you feel it.

🧥 CLOTHING & WINTER PREPARATION
If you’re new to Canada, don’t underestimate the cost of preparing for winter. A proper winter coat, boots, gloves, hats and other essentials can be expensive—especially for a whole family. 🥶❄️

💼 THE JOB SEARCH PERIOD
Even if you are highly qualified, finding your first Canadian job may take longer than expected. You may need time for applications, interviews, certifications, networking or even upgrading your skills.

And for newcomers already in Canada, the same reality applies: if your income suddenly drops, your emergency savings become extremely important.

🚨 THIS IS WHY AN EMERGENCY FUND MATTERS!

You don’t want every unexpected expense to become a crisis.

A medical or dental bill.
A car repair.
A sudden move.
A few weeks without work.
An unexpected family expense.

Life happens.

💡 So whether you’re still preparing to come to Canada or you’ve already landed, don’t only ask:

“How much money do I need to come to Canada?”

Also ask:

“How much money do I need to comfortably handle life while I’m building my new life here?”

Those are two VERY different questions.

And please don’t compare your financial journey to someone else’s. Someone coming alone with a secured job will have completely different expenses from a family of five arriving without employment.

So today officially marked the beginning of fall in Canada 🇨🇦. And what that means is that, winter is fast approaching 🥲🥲🥲.The cold has started really early & people are having cold everywhere…!

🚨🇨🇦 YOUR JOB COULD BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK WHEN IT COMES TO EXPRESS ENTRY!

Are you sitting there looking at your CRS score and thinking, “There’s no way I’ll get invited with this score?” 🤔

WAIT! Don’t count yourself out just yet.

Express Entry is not only about having a high CRS score. Canada also uses category-based selection to invite eligible candidates who have specific skills, work experience or language abilities that align with its economic priorities.

And in 2026, some of the categories include:

🇫🇷 French-language proficiency
If you have strong French, this can open an additional route for consideration through category-based selection. You generally need NCLC 7 in all four French language abilities to qualify for the French-language category.

🏥 Healthcare & Social Services
This includes occupations such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, social workers, therapists, medical laboratory assistants and other eligible healthcare and social-service occupations.

💻 STEM
Certain occupations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are included, such as cybersecurity specialists and several engineering occupations.

🔨 Trades
Electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters, machinists, heavy-duty equipment mechanics and other listed trades are among the occupations included in the current category.

👩🏽‍🏫 Education
Teachers, early childhood educators and assistants, teacher assistants and certain other education occupations are included.

🚛 Transport
Certain aircraft and automotive-related occupations are included in the current transport category.

And there are also categories for physicians, senior managers, researchers and skilled military recruits with Canadian work experience.

💡 So here’s the important lesson:

Before saying “My CRS is too low, so Express Entry is not for me,” look at your entire profile.

Your occupation, work experience, language ability and other factors can determine whether you may fit into a category-based round.

And remember: being in a category does not guarantee an invitation. You still have to meet the requirements of an Express Entry program and the specific category, and candidates in the category are ranked by CRS.

I saw this on the media and it seriously got me thinking…What was their reason for denying blood transfusions in the first place?

Why change that now after millions of people have lost their lives because of “a christian law”? Or should I call it doctrine?

I remember when I was growing up, my mum used to plant this around the compound and even in her farms. We call it in Cameroon 🇨🇲 “garden egg”. We ate this like twice a week🤣🤣🤣🤣. Now here am I in Canada seeing it in some African food markets and it’s called “egg plant”.

My mum used to peel off the back, slice and fry with tomatoes, crayfish and dry fish.

Seeing it here in Canada I’m curious…please which other way can I consume this egg plant?
