Dear clients and business partners,
In light of recent recommendations from Canadian and Québec authorities, and the progression of the coronavirus epidemic, to the pandemic stage, we wish to inform you that we are implementing measures to ensure the safety of our employees, limit the spread of the virus within and outside of our network, and continue our business as efficiently as possible.

We would like to inform that we have no cases of the COVID-19 Virus nor any associated contact with an infected person, however, we wish to protect our employees, their families, our clients, and act as a responsible corporate citizen. To this end, we are working on a plan to reduce the need for staff to report to work.

Our employees on site have been given reinforced personal sanitary measures and we are also disinfecting our trucks and machinery to fight the spread of this virus. We also encourage remote work for those team members that are concerned so that, in a secure manner, they can continue doing their tasks. Drivers have been asked to avoid or respect a considerable distance with all warehouse personnel and to use own disinfected tools and stationery to carry out their work when dropping or picking up containers or vans.

Depending on the progression of the virus we have different work scenarios established, among which split workforce and shifts on-site and on the road. While some delays could/might be expected, please remain assured we are taking all necessary steps to make it “business as usual”. As the situation evolves we will adapt and will inform you of the actions taken.

We are part of the global supply chain and we must function as efficiently as possible throughout this ordeal.

The social impact from economic hardship will perhaps be far worse than the health impact. While avoiding possible exposure or contagion to the virus we MUST continue business as usual and in our personal lives maintain, as much as possible, our consumer habits.

We promote Prudence in the workplace, not Panic.

We will keep you posted if and when new measures are being introduced in our Company.

Lastly, we would like to thank you for your business and for your confidence in our company.

Transport Québec 2020: Thaw road restrictions, surcharges will apply depending on load weight. Effective dates by zone available here:

The Ministère reminds users of heavy vehicles and shippers that the authorized load limits are reduced during the thaw period on all public roads. This is done every year to account for the road network’s lower bearing capacity during this period.

Contruck Trucking and Transport Canada has had a busy summer as volumes soar through the Port of Montreal.
Meantime, we are also in the midst of finishing up all the maintenance and repairs of our fleet of trucks, vans and chassis to be ready for the upcoming fall and winter.

Besides the regular container trucking, we also offer solutions for over-dimensional loads. We can pick up your cargo at origin or at the different terminals in Montreal and bring them over to our facility to transload them into different equipment types and haul them over to any destination point in North America either with our own equipment or a combination of our equipment and our partners equipment to make sure your load gets to final destination uneventful and without delays.

Contact us with your over-dimensional needs, we have you covered!

East Coast Commodities transloading, stuffing, and warehousing Montreal, attended to the Canadian Specialty Crops Association Week in August 2019.
Harvest is late this season due to weather conditions however there is some optimism towards next season’s sales of pulses through the port of Montreal.

East Coast Commodities, together with CANEST and the Port of Montreal offered a Customer Appreciation Dinner Cruise in Montreal which was a complete success. The boat was up to capacity with 50 people on board, the weather was outstanding and everyone enjoyed the cruise, touring the Port of Montreal facilities, as well as the shoreline displaying our beautiful city of Montreal. All this under the experienced guidance of Tony Boemi who is an outstanding host (thank you so much Tony!).

Our warmest thanks to our Customers, staff, and partners for making this a successful Event. Without you, this would not have been possible.

Contruck Trucking and Transport Montréal has been very busy to keep up with the increasing demand and performing under the extreme weather conditions. Due to the snow storms and icy roads, the normal operations were basically not possible - mechanical breakdowns, shortage of equipment and drivers, inaccessibility of some loading docks due to ice and snow.
Increase in demand has driven the prices up. Most of the trucking companies, including Contruck Trucking and Transport are operating at their capacity and now it’s becoming harder and harder to accommodate the orders on a short notice. So we ask our customers to please be proactive and book your freight in advance to avoid any delays.

East Coast Commodities Stuffing, Transloading and Warehousing in Montreal wanted to thank all its customers for their time during the CropSphere Conference in Saskatoon last January. It was great to exchange the latest news, discuss ongoing projects and future opportunities, map out few interesting projects and tackle some things that have been overlooked in a day to day routine. As per projections, we expect the increase of volume starting 2019. And we have noticed a spike of activity in January that came along with the winter in Montreal.

And, indeed, “Winter in Montreal” – this is basically what marks the month of January and will do so for February. Mother nature made everyone to follow its schedule and adjust all the plans. At East Coast Commodities Stuffing, Transloading and Warehousing in Montreal, we united our efforts to be able to still deliver to our customers in spite of the harsh weather conditions. The yard hours were extended, including to weekends and our crew is always on top to keep the yard ready for both drivers and workers to perform their job. Being in the middle of a complex logistics chain, East Coast Commodities Stuffing, Transloading and Warehousing Montreal has to remain flexible to regroup and perform in the ever changing environment. The end of January was especially tough, when rail operations were affected by the weather conditions – snow storms, low temperatures, icy road conditions – all that created an immense backlog. Multiple units couldn’t not be grounded off trains for days, so everyone operated under complete uncertainty. But we are certain that slowly but surely, the situation will straighten up and we would like to thank all our customers and all the parties involved for their cooperation which is crucial to get the job done.

Contruck trucking and transport Montréal have been busy during the holiday season with the last minute orders and rush deliveries. We also had to be proactive and organize our work well for our P and D orders to be able to secure the timely pick up of empty containers and delivery of the full containers back to the terminal bearing in mind the detention and cut offs and taking into account the holiday hours of the terminals.

We have been working on a few trucking projects during 2018 and we are hopeful they will flourish in 2019.

Reach us out at Contruck trucking and transport for your transportation needs, we will be happy to assist you.

At East Coast Commodities Stuffing, Transloading and Warehousing Montréal, we are ready to meet 2019. We have been working on optimizing our operations by implementing lean principles and increasing our productivity - all that with our customers in mind.

We are entering a second week of January and getting into a work routine after the holiday season. With New Year and new hopes, the farmers, traders and other service providers of the pulse industry in Canada are getting together at CropSphere in Saskatoon on January 15th and 16th to discuss the news on tariffs and trade, the farmer’s right to repair their own equipment, and share the latest market analysis on commodities and projections for 2019.

The Port Terminals are catching up with the workload after the port closures during holidays and their operations are coming back to normal. Lately, we have been experiencing frequent changes in vessel’s ERD’s and LRD’s and our goal was to work closely with the terminals, lines and our customers to insure the smooth and timely communication flow to meet the deadlines.
