The biggest mistake people make in Morocco? Staying in one place.

Sometimes you don’t need two weeks to fall in love with Morocco. Sometimes all it takes is one unforgettable day.

One day you’re wandering through the blue-and-white charm of Essaouira, the next you’re standing beneath the towering kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, hiking through the Atlas Mountains in Imlil, or listening to the sound of waterfalls in Ouzoud. Every direction from Marrakech leads to a completely different Morocco.

These aren’t rushed bus excursions or checklist experiences. They’re opportunities to step outside the city, meet incredible people, witness breathtaking landscapes, and see the Morocco that has kept me coming back for over a decade.

Whenever I’m in Marrakech, I always encourage people to leave the city for a day. It’s often those unexpected moments—the mountain tea with locals, the winding roads, the coastal breeze, or the ancient villages—that become the memories you talk about long after you’ve gone home.

I’ve curated a collection of my favourite day trips, each offering a different perspective on Morocco and a chance to experience its incredible diversity. Visit my website to explore each day trip in detail, see what each experience includes, and discover which one belongs on your itinerary.

And if you’re planning a trip to Morocco and want to make the most of your time, send me a message. I’d love to help you create an unforgettable adventure. 🤍

Throwback: Finding an apartment to buy in Morocco Aug 2024 🏠🇲🇦

I can’t believe that it was two years ago, almost that I started my search in Morocco for an apartment to purchase.

My search began in Essaouira… the coastal city of the Atlantic just three hours west of Marrakech.

I was set on getting a place there… I love Essaouira… The vibe the beach… Everything about it. But as it were, I ended up buying in Marrakech & I’m happy how that turned out. ( is a peek at it!)

I had thought that I was going to make an Instagram account of my apartment search journey. So I recorded a bunch of little video clips every day and took 1 million photos of all the different apartments… But I never did! Maybe that’s for the best! Haha

I recently found them all thought I’d throw a few up here to give you a sneak peek of what it was like to do my first real estate search in Morocco. And definitely won’t be my last. 😏

Have you ever bought property in a foreign country?

The desert has a way of slowing time.

As the sun begins its descent, the dunes soften into shades of gold and rose, the only sound is the quiet rhythm of camel footsteps, and silhouettes stretch across the sand like scenes from another century.

Then, almost magically, the camp comes alive. Lanterns flicker to life, pathways glow, and what was an endless expanse of desert becomes one of the most enchanting places to spend the night beneath a sky full of stars.

It’s difficult to explain the feeling of being here. The silence isn’t empty—it feels full. Full of wonder, perspective, and a reminder that the world’s most luxurious moments often have nothing to do with extravagance and everything to do with presence.

Every time I bring guests to the Sahara, this evening becomes one of the memories they talk about long after they’ve returned home.

And I understand why. So do I. ❣️

Athens is always a good idea. ✨🇬🇷💙

Most people arrive expecting ancient ruins, and yes, standing beneath the Acropolis is every bit as impressive as you’ve imagined. But what I love most about Athens is everything that happens beyond the postcards.

Mornings start with strong Greek coffee and people-watching in neighbourhood cafés. Wander the winding streets of Plaka, get lost among the colourful corners of Anafiotika, browse the markets of Monastiraki, and watch the city unfold from one rooftop terrace to the next.

One moment you’re standing in the shadow of thousands of years of history, the next you’re discovering contemporary art, lively tavernas, hidden wine bars, and some of the best food you’ll eat in Greece.

Stay long enough to watch the sunset from Lycabettus Hill, spend an afternoon by the Athenian Riviera, and leave room for long dinners that somehow stretch late into the night.

Athens isn’t just a city you visit.

It’s a city you settle into.

And before you know it, you’re already planning your return.

✨Evidence of a fantastic Greek island holiday. ☀️🇬🇷💙

I have had my parents from Canada here on my Greek island for almost 3 weeks. It’s been a relaxing, and lovely time.

Here’s some snippets of our time here.

I love when friends and family come to visit the very best Greek island. 🥰

If you know me, you know how much I love supporting local — especially when it tastes this good. 🌿

Just next door to my village here on Lesvos is the Tzortis family olive oil press, and it’s the only olive oil I buy. Not because it’s convenient… but because it’s exceptional.

Lesvos is an island deeply rooted in olive culture, with millions of olive trees blanketing the landscape — some centuries old — shaping not only the scenery, but the rhythm of life here. Olive harvest season is still a family affair for many, a time when villages come alive with generations gathering to pick, press, and share stories.

The Tzortis family has turned that tradition into something truly special. Their award-winning olive oil reflects everything I love about this island: care, patience, simplicity, and deep connection to the land.

Golden, peppery, rich, and full of flavour — the kind of olive oil that makes you tear off a piece of bread just to taste it properly.

There’s a comfort in knowing exactly where what you’re eating comes from… and even more special when it comes from people just down the road.

A little taste of Lesvos in every bottle. 💚🫒
