Remembering summer on Mykonos 💛

The air is cool right now on my Greek island here in October… As the sun comes through the window I lean in so that I can get the warm sun to hit my face.

I love summer… The cold and the winds are always a struggle for me.

That’s when scrolling through my camera roll. I need to remind myself of the warmer days and that they’ll come again ☺️

This trip was a special birthday trip for my friend and 5 friends.

Everything from beginning information, to booking, to payment, to the actual trip itself was easy, clear and convenient.

What a pleasure to be greeted at the airport in Istanbul by Tracey, and guided to our first hotel.

The entire trip was well organized, excellent guide and driver throughout, as we wove our way along the coast of Turkey.

We experienced all of the sights and sounds (and tastes) that can be expected in this beautiful country.

Unique hotels, interesting shopping experiences, and even a dip in Cleopatra”s pool where we swam amongst the underwater ruins. How cool to stub your toe on an ancient Roman column underwater!

Tracey was always present, and we came to enjoy her remarkable warmth and sense of humour She worked very hard behind the scenes, so that everything went smoothly.

I would highly recommend travelling with FYH Tours.

The only other foreigners I’ve spotted in my Marrakech neighbourhood… 🐐😂

They do, however, seem to think they have right of way.

When I tell people I live in Marrakech, they usually assume I mean the Medina or Gueliz, where many foreigners choose to settle. But my little corner of the city is in Mhamid, in a local neighbourhood where I have yet to meet another foreigner.

And I love it here.

Goats crossing the road while I’m driving. The High Atlas mountains in the distance on a clear winter day. A roundabout with new green grass that the neighbourhood kids have happily claimed as their place to play.

There’s so much joy in these everyday things. This is the Marrakech where I go about my daily life, where I’m a neighbour, and where I feel at home.

This is my little corner of Morocco. And I wouldn’t change a thing. 🤍

Morocco knows how to spice things up… including your coffee. ☕️🇲🇦

On our food tour through Tangier, my guests and I stopped at Cafes Porto Rico, where freshly ground coffee gets a Moroccan twist with spices such as cinnamon, ginger, star anise and pepper. Fragrant, warming, and a lovely introduction to Moroccan spiced coffee.

The owner’s son, who’s now the barista, was behind the counter, while Dad sat on a stool on our side, where customers order their coffee. He and I had a little banter going—you can see it in the photos of us looking at each other and smiling. I do love making friends over coffee. 🤍🤎

And the stool he’s sitting on? An earlier generation of his family sat on that very same one. A little piece of family history, still part of an ordinary working day.

These are the stops I love sharing with my guests: a local specialty to taste, people to meet, and a reason to linger a little longer.

Fifteen years ago, I went to this exact spot in the first photo with an assignment. I came home with a new found affection for Turkiye. 🇹🇷❤️

Exactly 15 years ago this month, I set off for Türkiye on assignment for Philippines. Looking at this cover and the 16-page spread brings me straight back to the excitement of that trip… camera in hand, curious about everything, and so much still ahead of me.

I didn’t know then how often I would return, or how many guests I would eventually bring here to experience this country for themselves.

But I’ve been bringing travellers here ever since, and watching them discover Türkiye has become such a lovely part of my own story. The conversations over tea, the food they’re still talking about days later, the moments when a place they’ve only seen in photographs becomes a memory of their own.

These pages make me a little nostalgic for the woman setting off on that assignment, with no idea what it would lead to.

Fifteen years later, I’m still coming back. Still taking photos. Still learning. Still finding more to love.

Happy 15-year Turkish 🇹🇷 anniversary to me. Here’s to all the journeys yet to come. ✨

📌Marrakech Destination Highlight: Insiders Marrakech 🇲🇦

Marrakech from a sidecar? Yes, please! 🏍️☀️

Fellow Canadian travel agent Kristin and I headed out with Insiders Marrakech for a ride through the medina, Gueliz and the Palmeraie—and what a fun way to explore!

From the bustle of the old city to the streets of Gueliz and out among the palms, we got to see so many different sides of Marrakech in one outing. Plenty to look at, plenty of laughs, and me happily taking photos along the way. 📸

I love walking through Marrakech, but seeing it from a sidecar brought a whole new perspective to a city so close to my heart.

What an amazing trip we had in Morocco! It was all thanks to our awesome host, Tracey! From day one, she made sure every single detail was taken care of.

Tracey was super knowledgeable and acted as our host, driver, coordinator, videographer, and translator. It was so helpful and fun that she speaks multiple languages, including Arabic.

Tracey curated the entire trip around our interests, comfort, and budget. Every hotel, traditional riad, and luxury camp she booked for us was absolutely stunning and comfortable. We got to explore 7 major cities and all the beautiful spots in between, visited UNESCO World Heritage sites, and ate so much amazing local food.

Tracey even introduced us to wonderful locals, so we could learn about their culture firsthand and experience how friendly and welcoming everyone is.

The highlight of it all was our desert trip. Staying in a luxury desert tent, driving through the dunes, walking barefoot in the sand, riding camels, and watching the sunset was an unforgettable experience.

SEE or FEEL Morocco? Which is more like you?

🇲🇦 Okay ladies… I’m curious. Which Morocco trip sounds more like YOU?

When I planned my women’s trips for 2027, I realized I was actually creating them for two very different kinds of travellers.

❤️ The woman who wants to SEE Morocco.

She wants the road trip. The changing landscapes. Ancient medinas. Mountains. Kasbahs. The Sahara. Camels. Fes. Marrakech. Those big I can’t believe I’m actually here moments.

She wants an adventure.

🌿 And then there’s the woman who wants to FEEL Morocco.

She wants to slow down. Wander Marrakech without rushing. Sit over mint tea. Create something with a local artisan. Spend time by the ocean in Essaouira. Eat beautiful food. Have meaningful conversations. Rest.

She wants to come home feeling different than when she arrived.

That’s exactly why I created two very different women’s trips for 2027:
