Old memories and good reminders that even the best plans don’t always go as expected 😂🐴

One test drive years ago with our oldest junior driver as just a toddler turned into the driver and lady driver taking a long walk home… while the equipment and crew stayed behind waiting for rescue 😅

That’s exactly why we always try to test equipment before hitting the show ring. Checking harness, wagons, parts, and making sure everything is running as smoothly as possible before show season arrives. Because no matter how prepared you are, nothing is ever completely perfect in the horse world.

Which is why we appreciate our co-pilot so much — the one behind the scenes keeping equipment maintained, finding parts, tightening bolts, fixing surprises, and somehow getting us rolling again when things don’t quite go according to plan. 💪

The horses may get the spotlight, but it takes a whole crew to make it to the ring.

The future of the hitch is in good hands 🩷🐴

There’s something pretty amazing about watching a young junior driver climb up, grab the lines, and give it their all. Every lap around the ring builds confidence, determination, and a love for the horses that can’t be taught overnight.

At Reid Acres, we know the future of the horse industry starts with moments like these. Giving young drivers the chance to learn, grow, and have fun helps keep these traditions alive for the next generation.

And while there’s plenty of learning along the way, there’s also lots of smiles, laughter, and memories being made too.

The smallest hands today are helping guide the future tomorrow. 💪🐴

When we’re not horsing around, we’re fixing fences so the kids don’t escape… sorry, the horses 😂🐴

Farm rule #1: if there’s a weak spot in the fence, the horses already know about it before you do.

Spent the day battling vines, trees, and branches that apparently grew overnight. At this point the fence line looks less like a pasture and more like we’re clearing a trail through the Amazon 🌿🪓

Pretty sure the horses stand in the field watching us like:
“Look at them go… we should test that corner again later.” 👀

Honestly, if anyone invents GPS collars for horses, electric fence alerts, and a “your horse is plotting something” notification system, sign us up 😂

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there 🌸

If it wasn’t for Mom, we’d probably be starving, dehydrated, and headed to the show ring without the extra sparkle of perfectly done top knots and mane rolls. Moms do so much behind the scenes to keep everything — and everyone — running smoothly.

Today we celebrate all the hardworking and caring moms who make it all happen 💕

Lady driver played hooky on Friday and traded the office for the lines 🌾🐴

She took the wheel team from our six horse hitch out to roll the fields after planting—it was time to smooth things out. Sometimes there’s no better view than from behind a good team of horses.

Come along for a ride on the roller from the driver’s perspective 🚜🐎

Long days, early mornings, and miles of open road 🚛💨

At Reid Acres, we know that nothing moves without the dedication of truck drivers. Our driver may shine in the show ring, but when he’s not horsing around or being a dad, he’s no stranger to hard work behind the wheel and getting the job done.

Today, we recognize him and all the incredible truck drivers who keep things rolling day in and day out—through all kinds of weather and long hours.

Happy International Truck Drivers Day! We appreciate everything you do and hope you get a well-deserved break—and maybe a little extra appreciation—along the way 👏

We were recently asked by a mother-daughter duo if they could use some footage they filmed of our horses for a story they were working on… and of course we said yes.

Safe to say, we’re pretty glad we did—look how it turned out! ❤️🐴

It’s always special seeing our horses through someone else’s eyes and how they bring their own story to life.
