Job description
Busy and locally owned and operated truck and trailer repair shop is seeking heavy duty equipment technicians to join our team.

We are currently in a large shop space that can hold up to 10 trucks and 2-3 trailers, and with our company's growth we are looking to expand our team.

Our technician’s duties include but are not limited to; inspecting, diagnosing, and servicing repairs to trucks and trailers that may be related to mechanical and electronic systems. Having a vast knowledge on components of commercial transport trucks and trailers that can include chassis, frames, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, fuel and hydraulic systems, electronics and wiring using conventional and specialized tools for commercial repair.

Technician education and requirements:

3-4 years Apprenticeship or Red Seal certificate.

Valid class 1 or 3 license with airbrake endorsement and driving experience an asset. (optional)

Must have CAT and Cummins engine experience and knowledge.

Have own tools with tool box.

Knowledge on the commercial vehicle inspection program, and completing required repairs as inspections are completed.

Technician skills and assets:

Ability to work with minimal supervision at times and be able to work independently with common problem solving.

Teamwork and leadership skills are important along with team communication.

Ability to use computers and diagnostic equipment for job related tasks, as well as written communications.

Must be able to work in a high pressure environment on occasion.

Must be able to present yourself in a positive and professional manner to colleagues and customers.

Employment Information:

Competitive wages based on year of apprenticeship or years as a journey person. Can range from $25.00 to $37.00 per hour.

Overtime Pay - following 8 hours per day and above 44 hours per week. Holidays & Stat's are off, but have potential for half days.

Flexible Environment - working within a team as well as being independent. Opportunities for employee growth and advancement.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

We are actively seeking to grow our team, and are currently looking for a class 1 driver with livestock experience to join us.

Busy and locally owned and operated truck and trailer repair shop is seeking a class 1 driver to join our busy team.

Our driver’s duties would include but are not limited to; transporting various loads, having a basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers, completing paperwork and log books in a timely fashion, and having a flexible mentality towards scheduling as needed.
Having a vast knowledge about the trucking industry, good communication between dispatchers and other parties involved, and an overall eagerness to work with a growing company.

Class 1 Driver requirements:
Valid class 1 license with airbrake endorsement
3-5 years driving experience
3-5 years hauling cattle/livestock experience
Commercial driver’s abstract

Driver skills and assets:
Safely operate a heavy tractor-trailer unit
Basic mechanical knowledge of tractors and trailers, and the ability to complete trip inspections
Knowledge of log books, e-log books, and other written documents
Must be able to present yourself in a positive and professional manner to colleagues and customers

Position Information:
Full time work
