🚨🔥 RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE TO BE LIFTED IN NORTHWEST ONTARIO 🔥🚨

Good news for residents, travellers, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts across Northern Ontario.

The Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) that has been in effect across the Northwest Region and a small portion of the Northeast Region will be revoked effective Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. local time.

✅ Open-air burning restrictions imposed under the RFZ will be lifted.

⚠️ However, everyone is reminded to continue exercising extreme caution when having outdoor fires and to follow Ontario's Outdoor Fire Regulations.

🌲🔥 The Ministry of Natural Resources notes that wildfire conditions will continue to be monitored closely, and a Restricted Fire Zone could be reinstated if fire hazards increase.

🙏 Thank you to all residents, campers, visitors, and communities who helped reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during this challenging fire season.
