Fiber artist Ruth Mackay gathers snippets to pursue her art in Lyon’s Brook, Pictou County and indulges her lifelong love of teaching through offering introductory Fiber Arts Sampler workshops in paper making, flower pounding, yarn painting, resist dyeing, wet and needle felting, felted knitting, abstract weaving, rug hooking, stitched and fused appliqué, and decorative stitching. Snippets will be at the New Glasgow Farmers Market this coming Saturday!! We're turning earth day into earth week! Snippets makes a conscious effort year round to be green. Snippets are produced using upcycled wool from thrift stores and by donations from eco-conscious folks. "Snippets" too tiny to be used as visible aspects of Ruth's creations are used for innards of stuffies and to tie tags, nothing hits the landfill!! Snippets also uses locally produced yarn from Lismore Sheep Farm and Briggs and Little Woolen Mills Ltd. in New Brunswick!! Shop locally and keep it green this coming Saturday at the Market!!
