Red Lake Airport is located 1 kilometre south of the Community of Cochenour, Ontario in the Municipality of Red Lake and occupies a land area of approximately 202.5 acres (81 hectares). The Airport serves as a point of call for Air Carriers offering scheduled passenger service; an operating base for Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Aircraft during fire season; and services both private and co

mmercial fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter operators located on site. The Airport is owned by the Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake and operated under contract by Thunder Bay Airport Services Inc. Airport Fees can be found on our website: http://redlake.ca/web/airport.php

Morning views you don’t see every day ✈️

Today at Red Lake Airport we watched a DHC‑2 Beaver roll down the runway and lift off into the northern sky – that unmistakable radial engine rumble never gets old.
Built for Canada’s backcountry, the Beaver is a legendary short take‑off and landing bush plane, so seeing it launch from our runway instead of a remote lake was a real treat for our team!

🚒 Annual Firefighter Training at Red Lake Airport 🚒

We’re excited to host our Annual Firefighter Training from today through Sunday here at the Red Lake Airport!
You may notice increased activity on and around the airfield as crews take part in hands-on training exercises. Community members are welcome to come by and observe — it’s a great opportunity to see our firefighters in action and learn more about what they do.

For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask that all spectators remain outside the airport gates at all times.
