FUN FRIDAY: Maui Family Edition 🌺🌴

Maui is one of those destinations that has a special place in my heart. My family and I absolutely love it, and after several trips of my own, I have lots of firsthand experience to draw from when planning Hawaii vacations for my clients.

I’m also a Hawaii destination expert and have worked with the Hawaii Travel Board, so when I put together a Maui itinerary, I’m looking at much more than just flights and a hotel. I’m thinking about the overall experience and what will actually work well for the family travelling.

🌴 FEATURE FRIDAY: Serenade Caribe Club – Punta Cana 🌴

There’s a brand-new family resort coming to Punta Cana, and this one definitely caught my attention!

Serenade Caribe Club is scheduled to open November 1, 2026, right on Punta Cana’s beautiful white-sand shores. And from the looks of it, they are going BIG on family fun.

Think lazy river, waterslides, multiple pools, kids and teens clubs, plenty of dining options, and lots to keep everyone entertained.

✨ A few things that caught my eye:

✔️ 5 pools
✔️ Lazy river
✔️ Huge water park with waterslides
✔️ Dedicated kids and teens clubs
✔️ 8 restaurants
✔️ 10 bars
✔️ Spa and gym
✔️ Live entertainment
✔️ All-inclusive
✔️ Right on the beach

And with 835 rooms, this is going to be a large resort with lots happening throughout the property.

I think this could be a really interesting new option for families with kids of different ages — especially those who tell me, “We need a great pool and lots for the kids to do!”

Because this is a brand-new resort, I’ll be watching closely once it opens to see how the food, service, beach, rooms, and overall guest experience compare to some of my other Punta Cana favourites.

Thinking about Garza Blanca Cancun? Here are a few things I’d make sure you know before you go 👇

A few favourites:
• Borrow a kayak or paddleboard and get out on the water
• Take a nap in one of the overwater hammocks
• Catch sunset over dinner at DAO
• Wander next door to Villa del Palmar and check out the artisan market

A few things worth ordering:
• Tableside Caesar salad at Bocados
• Shrimp aguachile from the Food Truck
• Chef’s Hor Fun Noodles at DAO
• A Serrano Margarita 🍹

And a few advisor tips that can make your stay even better:

Dining reservations open 45 days before arrival — and I recommend booking the popular restaurants early.

Garza Blanca guests can also dine next door at Villa del Palmar, giving you even more restaurant options.

If the beach entrance directly in front of the resort feels a little rocky, walk about one minute north for an easier entry.

This is the kind of information I look at when matching clients with a resort. It’s not just about finding a pretty hotel — it’s knowing how to make the most of it once you’re there.
