Ok so here’s my experience using our local service Canada office for passport renewal.
It was incredibly fast and easy and we received our passports 2 weeks before expected.
We pre-filled out our applications at home but they will help you do them there if you feel like you might make an error. Photos were done at shoppers and we had no issues. Payment was made right there at service Canada and we got our old passports back when we left.
Super easy!!
