My heart goes out to all of the families and loved ones affected by the devastating floods on the Nepal-Tibet border. There are currently 24 Canadians, and we are desperately hoping for their safe return.

The Canadian government is urging all Canadian tourists in the region to register here:

It's almost that time of year again...

I'll be speaking about accessibility and representation at Travel Market Place Calgary on September 15th.

If you've been following me for the past few years, you know this topic is nestled right next to my heart, and here's why:

It's not because, for the last 9 years, I've suffered from a chronic health condition that has rendered me incapacitated when I've least expected it. It's definitely been a driving factor, but it's much bigger than that...

The World Health Organization estimates that over 1 billion people, or somewhere around 15% of the world's population, live with some form of disability.

Closer to home, a Statistics Canada survey backs this up: in 2025, 47% of Canadians with disabilities or long-term conditions who traveled encountered a barrier at a station, terminal, or onboard, and 43% didn't know how to request the accommodations they needed due to a lack of accessible portals.

There has to be a better way.

I've spent the last few years on the TMP speaking circuit, fighting for the same thing: a world where everyone gets to explore it, in their own way. This fight doesn't start at check-in; it starts as a dream.

Time to re-introduce myself and I figured while I’m at it, I’ll address the robot in the room!

Folks are out here using AI to plan their whole gosh darn trips and while I’m supposed to be scared my profession will disappear, the only thing I’m afraid of of the amount of time and money wasted on trusting a chat bot with your precious plans!

Life moves slower on the river…castles drifting past, cobblestoned towns to wander, crisp w**e in the glass, and waking up in a new town every other morning🤌🏾

Stepping onto the AmaViola out of Budapest last spring reminded me that the best kind of travel is the kind that leaves your camera full of snapped memories, your limbs sore from exploring and your inner romantic firing on all cylinders❤️
