BACK-TO-SCHOOL SAFETY 🚌📚🎒
As students head back to school, our roads will once again be busy with children walking, biking, waiting for buses, and traveling through school zones.
Please help us start the school year safely by slowing down, staying alert, and keeping these important reminders in mind:
▪️ Slow down and obey posted speed limits.
▪️ Be ready to stop at any time.
▪️ Put the phone down, eliminate distractions and focus on the road at all times.
▪️ Follow directions from crossing guards, and wait until children are fully on the sidewalk before moving.
▪️ Never pass a stopped school bus displaying red overhead warning lights.
▪️ Expect unexpected movement of children near schools, bus stops, crosswalks, and from between parked cars.
▪️ Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
▪️ Drive carefully — your behaviour sets an example for young drivers.
Keeping our students safe is a shared responsibility. A little extra patience and attention can make a big difference.
