We are, as always, in awe of the amazing support provided by the Sundre Community. As many of you know we have been working towards getting a new Van and with your continued help that wish has now become a reality.
In April of this year we were awarded a grant from the Alberta Government to assist with the purchase of a Van which will primarily be used for the transportation of non emergency patients. This will remove some of the pressure from the ambulance service and also help to keep our ambulance here in town available to attend any emergency situations that may arise. We were then fortunate enough to also receive a substantial donation from Hospital Futures. Along with some subsidizing from the Town of Sundre, Mountain View County and our amazing Community, the Sundre Community Van is going from strength to strength. Our new Van was delivered on April10 2026.
It is always difficult to thank individuals for fear of missing someone out but here are a few notable mentions.
Outwest Truck Wash gives us free washes to keep our vehicles looking great.
Jiffylube provide us with free oil changes.
22West does our twice yearly vehicle inspections for free.
GTI gives us a fuel credit each month.
Integra Tire supplied free tires for one of our vans.
Advertising decals on our vans have all been purchased by local businesses
The agreement of locals to have our donation boxes in their establishments. It's amazing how quickly loose change can add up and make a difference.
Many many local businesses have supported our Sponsor a Driver for a month initiative.
Our amazing Volunteers who help our riders come safely out into our community and attend to their every day tasks, tasks they might otherwise be unable to complete.
Of course a huge mention must go out to all of you who attended and supported our first ever Auction. The community spirit at our Auction is something none of us will ever forget!
All of this support and funding has left us with a small fund for repairs and replacement of equipment as necessary. Anyone who runs a vehicle will fully understand the importance of that.
We really cannot thank all of you enough for your continuous support. Together we are building an amazing Community.
This is your Community Van, let's keep those wheels rolling!
Thank You Sundre
