Truth and Reconciliation is more than an acknowledgement.

It requires understanding, education, empathy and a commitment to building communities rooted in respect.

Indigenous Peoples across Canada carry diverse histories, cultures, traditions, languages and beliefs that have shaped, and continue to enrich, the place we all call home.

Across the communities where we live and work, we are neighbours, colleagues and service providers alongside Indigenous Peoples and communities. In some areas, our school buses also serve Indigenous students and families. That connection makes the responsibility to listen, learn and approach reconciliation with respect especially meaningful to us.

The experiences and truths of Indigenous Peoples deserve recognition, understanding and respect. Continuing to learn from those experiences is an important part of the ongoing work of reconciliation.

Reconciliation /ˌrek.ənˌsɪl.iˈeɪ.ʃən/

An ongoing process of establishing and maintaining respectful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we honour survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize that the work of reconciliation continues beyond September 30.

Every Child Matters.

🚌 WE’RE BACK ON THE ROAD!

The backpacks are packed, the school bells are ringing, and Wilson buses are once again travelling through our communities each morning and afternoon.

With school back in session, please keep an extra eye out for our students and drivers:

➡️ Slow down when approaching a school bus.
➡️ Be ready for frequent stops along bus routes.
➡️ Never pass a bus when its red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.
➡️ Watch for students near roadways, driveways and bus stops.

A few extra seconds of patience can make a big difference.

Welcome back, students! We’re looking forward to another safe year on the road together. 🚍📚

Behind every safe ride is a great technician.

Wilson Transportation is hiring a full-time 310T Technician in Sundridge to help keep our fleet in top condition for the students and families who rely on us every day.

This is more than just a job in the shop - it’s a role that supports safe transportation in your community.

If you’re a licensed 310T or working towards it, we’d love to connect.
