Nothing upgrades board game night like actually knowing where everything is. 😄

Today’s print: a 3D printed organizer for Anachrony.

Our customer loves the game, but the setup/teardown was turning into a bit of a chore — pieces drifting, trays missing, and that classic “where did that token go?” moment.

This organizer solves all of that:

Lately we’ve been getting a lot of students coming to us with ideas for capstone projects, presentations, and studio work — and honestly, it’s one of our favourite parts of this business.

There’s nothing quite like watching someone see their design jump from a screen into real life, as a physical object they can actually hold in their hands.

This piece is an architectural model of a laneway house in Vancouver, designed by a second–year UBC student. We worked from his digital drawings to turn the concept into a detailed 3D printed model, complete with all the little features he’d imagined.

He was absolutely chuffed seeing his design go from “file on a laptop” to “real thing on the table.” Moments like that are why we love what we do.

A spotlight on real world 3D printing solutions: A heavy duty mechanical and transportation company needs a replacement air-to-air connector for Cummins Diesels used in busses, semi trucks and other equipment. The problem - the part from Cummins is over $900, and covid delays mean availability is poor. The solution? A custom designed replacement which is a spec-for-spec drop-in.

This weekend's design challenge; A client has brought pictures of some designer planters they are in love with, but the price is insane ($210 for a set of three!).

My task - create some unique designs inspired by the designer pots, and make them affordable, durable, UV and water resistant - and feature some unique materials!

Challenge accepted and under way :)
