For those of us who are not immune suppressed, or otherwise high risk, we have an enormous responsibility.
Both Amanda and I have had to make a hard decision, one that many businesses have had to make; We want you to know we do not take this decision lightly, but feel it is necessary.
Please take a moment to read Amanda's letter:
Hello everyone,
We wanted to send well wishes to you during these uncertain times. Kelsea and I are taking the spread of COVID-19 very seriously. Green and Local is still a fairly small business, and for the most part, we work out of our personal homes. Your health and well-being is very important to us, as well as our own, and so we have decided to postpone the shipment and delivery of the April box. We have also cancelled any orders from our vendors for the time being. We are unsure when we'll be able to send the April box out, as the situation in Canada is ever-changing. As soon as we feel it is safe to do so, we will notify those who have placed an order, and go ahead with shipments.
As for our online store, we are also hitting the pause button; if you have made a purchase we will let you know when we can safely ship it to your location.
Finally, please stay safe. To those of you who are vulnerable, I understand your fear. As someone who has a suppressed immune system, I know all too well the anxiety of catching this virus, and the anger towards those who aren't taking it seriously. We only have control over what we do, so please don't put yourself in a situation that could potentially expose you to the virus, and always be prepared.
Whether we're healthy and strong, immune suppressed, or older and susceptible, practicing social distance is a big factor when it comes to keeping each other safe.
Don't let go of hope, we as humans have survived far worse with a lot less.
All the best
Amanda Metzloff
