Our Costa Rica adventure is officially underway!
Since we arrived a day ahead of our group with Memorable Travel Costa Rica, we spent our first day soaking up a little local culture. The day began with a delicious authentic Costa Rican breakfast, complete with specially prepared local coffee and a fresh mango smoothie that was absolutely incredible.
Our driver, Juan, expertly navigated around the road closures from the San José Marathon and treated us to a wonderful city tour during a gentle morning rain. We explored the bustling city market, stopped at a local supermercado to purchase some Costa Rican coffee and chocolate, observed the beautiful hymns echoing through a magnificent church service in and enjoyed getting our first taste of everyday life in Costa Rica.
Back at the beautiful Marriott Hacienda Belén, we wandered the grounds of this stunning Spanish-style hacienda—a far cry from your typical airport hotel! The perfect way to spend the afternoon before joining our welcome dinner.
Tomorrow we head out to the Cloud Forest and Monte Verde and we’ll spend the next six days exploring the natural beauty, culture, and incredible experiences that make Costa Rica so special.
