Here’s a moving story that shows that no 2 moves are the same:
“My family and I were so excited to move into our very first home. It was a custom-built home just for us. We parked the truck in the driveway and began to unload everything into the large great room to distribute out to the appropriate rooms later. Excitement grew as we worked away unloading and could finally see the end in sight, though we still needed to unload the king-size mattress. When my husband and I took our king-size mattress out of the truck, it was covering the ramp and I totally missed it. I tumbled off the back of the box truck and tried to catch myself as I landed on the driveway, stunned. I told everyone I was fine and just needed to rest a bit. Unfortunately, about three hours later, I had to admit defeat and went to the hospital. My arm was broken. Needless to say, I was pretty useless at unpacking for a few weeks!”

A few bumps and bruises are inevitable on moving day but taking some precautions can help prevent serious injuries. Use a professional moving company, but if you are intent on moving yourself, be realistic about your abilities and be extra cautious.

Kitchener is a lovely city with a small town vibe that is located in the Saint Lawrence Lowlands of Southwestern Ontario. The former German Mennonite town is now a thriving city with a lot of European heritage, much of which can be seen today. Kitchener’s most well-known landmark is Victoria Park, the site of major outdoor events in the downtown area. It is home to annual festivals, has growing cultural institutions and offers great shopping experiences. Kitchener is deemed a great place to live because of its growing job market, affordable housing, geographic location, abundance of green spaces and diversity. Doon and Stanley Park are among the top-rated areas to live.

Located on the banks of the Credit River and surrounded by the rolling hills of the Niagara Escarpment, Georgetown is a GTA gem.
Located 45 kilometres from Toronto and 60km outside of Hamilton, this means that it’s an easy commute from Georgetown into bigger communities.
In the past four years, Georgetown went on higher and higher positions when it comes to best places to live in Canada. And for some good reasons. The unemployment rate is almost nonexistent, the crime rate is very low, and the median and average incomes are rather high. Barrie, Ontario is a beautiful waterfront city located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay, the western side of Lake Simcoe. It is a growing area that has become a popular destination for new immigrants and people moving out of Toronto as part of a recent interprovincial migration trend. The city is also ideal for people who love the outdoors because of the swimmable beaches and ski hills located nearby. There are many great hiking paths, great skiing, and many watersports. The city offers many local attractions including the Simcoe County Museum, Fort Willow, Centennial Park, and Bear Creek Eco Park. If you are into the arts and theatre, check out Five Points Theatre or Maclaren Art Centre. Barrie was named the safest city in Ontario to live in. If you are into the outdoors and cottage lifestyle, it’s a great place to consider.
