Thrilled to present a selection of some of the most exciting photographs I took on my night trek through a rainforest in Costa Rica!
Wait, back up… what?
Well - at some point last year I ran off to Central America on a cheap flight, to spend a few days staring at a volcano + thinking, writing, and exploring in new lands.
Upon hearing that my originally selected wildlife tour was cancelled, I somehow mustered up the courage to try this night venture deep into a strange ecological habitat, home to all manner of reptiles and other unfathomable creatures. And what an experience it was!
Dodging venomous vipers and stalking through dirt trails in a magnificent downpour, I saw some incredible native frogs and other critters along the way. And for the first time in my life, I began to grasp, truly, just how spectacular, deadly, and “complete” wildlife camouflage can be.
