Retired Canadian Coast Guard Officer Leslie Arthur Palmer is one of only 20 people in Canada who have received the Cross of Valour! He was a member of the delegation representing Canada that attended the Queen’s funeral. It was an honor to have a retired member of our family represent us and all Canadians in London.

In 2004, Leslie selflessly put himself at risk during the rescue of two stranded fishers on the shores of Grenville Channel near Prince Rupert, BC. He traveled through a terrible snowstorm, in waist deep snow, howling winds and conditions that froze his eyelids shut, eventually reaching the hypothermic men and rendering critical first aid. Without his actions, the men would not have survived until they could be rescued from the shore. Leslie is a true representation of the best – in our organization and in Canada. Bravo Zulu!
