To say this is a chocolate-lover's dream is an understatement....

A visit to the Lindt Home of Chocolate provides you with the rich history of chocolate making in Switzerland, paired with more chocolate that you can eat in one day!

Located right next to their historical factory where they have been making chocolate since 1899, the museum is great for all ages and all levels of chocolate connoisseurs.

The museum is open 360 days a year. Entry tickets do sell out, so it is highly recommended you purchase them in advance. Have a Zurich Card? Enjoy a discounted entry ticket price. Fully guided tours are available, or if you prefer they do have a self-guided tour available in multiple languages.

And don't forget to get a photo with the iconic Chocolate Fountain in the atrium!

When travelling in Zurich a scenic and relaxing alternative to bus or rail travel is to travel by water!

Boat rides from Zurich Burkliplatz depart regularily for short scenic trips or for longer cruises which allow you explore further.

Hop on and off at your leisure to enjoy the many parks and beaches along the shoreline.

Lunch at Hiltl is a real treat!

Located within walking distance of Grossmunster, this is the World's Oldest Vegetarian Restaurant. It is currently being run by the 4th generation of Hiltl's and is a must-add to your Zurich itinerary.

Their incredible vegetarian buffet impressed me so much. There was something for everyone, from the seasoned vegetarians in our group to the self-proclaimed "picky eaters".

All home-made dishes. All made with care in a kitchen you can see right into. The fine details are all taken care of. The service is excellent.

And you will come out with a new appreciation of vegetables and how far you can go with them!

Lunch at Hiltl is a real treat!

Located within walking distance of Grossmunster, this is the World's Oldest Vegetarian Restaurant. It is currently being run by the 4th generation of Hiltl's and is a must-add to your Zurich itinerary.

Their incredible vegetarian buffet impressed me so much. There was something for everyone, from the seasoned vegetarians in our group to the self-proclaimed "picky eaters".

No visit to Zurich is complete without a visit to Grossmunster - a Romanesque church with medieval stained glass windows that has stood by the banks of the Limmat since the 1100s

One of the most recognized landmarks in Zurich, the twin towers offer a great opportunity for a climb above the city and offer wonderful views of Zurich's Old Town, the river and - on a clear day you can even see the Alps!

Pro tips: admission to the interior of the church is free. The tower is accessible to climb for a fee - or it is free with the purchase of a Zurich Card.

Do be ready for the climb - good footwear will get you far and assist you up the 187 steps on the narrow staircases.

Our introduction to the country we were about to spend the next 13 days in was a visit the National Museum in Zurich.

Here we learned the history of the country, why banking is so prevalent here, all about the reform in the church, and about William Tell.

My favorite part was this incredible map in the Geschichte Schewiz exhibit.

My least favorite part? Learning that their recent renovations did not include the addition of a/c in the building.

The European heat wave was brutal while we were there!
