Places We Love: Sussurro

Seated on the secluded shores of a warm turquoise lagoon in Southern Mozambique, Sussurro is a thoughtfully designed space for you to align with nature and immerse yourself in a more meaningful travel experience.

PLACES WE LOVE - Londolozi Tree Camp

There are safari lodges… and then there is Londolozi Tree Camp
Perched high beneath a canopy of ancient leadwood trees and elevated above the Sand River, Tree Camp feels completely immersed in the wilderness while somehow remaining impossibly elegant. Long, lazy afternoons on the deck watching elephants move through the riverbed below, lanterns flickering as evening falls, and some of the most beautiful design details in the bush… this place is pure magic.

What makes Londolozi so special though goes far beyond the beauty of the camp itself. The Varty family were true pioneers in conservation, photographic safaris, and shaping the way the world views and protects leopards today. Their relationship with the wild leopards of Londolozi spans decades, and being here you can genuinely feel that deep connection to the land and wildlife.

Tree Camp itself was also the very first safari lodge in Africa to join Relais & Châteaux back in 1993, and it still feels every bit as exceptional today. Ralph Lauren inspired interiors, leather and wood textures, beautiful fabrics and warm glowing lanterns create a space that feels sophisticated, intimate, and deeply African all at once.

And then there is the game viewing… Londolozi sits within the legendary Sabi Sand, an area renowned for some of the best leopard sightings in Africa, alongside extraordinary lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and wild dog encounters. Every drive here feels cinematic.

Leopards, leadwoods and lanterns… Tree Camp truly lives up to every bit of the legend.

🌍💚 Today we honour the extraordinary life of Dr. Jane Goodall, who has passed away at the age of 91.

Her groundbreaking research in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania forever transformed how we understand our closest relatives in the wild. She revealed to the world that chimpanzees show emotion, use tools, and form deep social bonds—traits once thought to be uniquely human.

But her work did not end in Tanzania. Through the Jane Goodall Institute, she extended her vision of conservation across Africa and the globe, protecting habitats, empowering local communities, and championing the belief that we are part of the natural world, not separate from it. 🌿

Her Roots & Shoots programme, now active in more than 60 countries, continues to inspire young people to take action for animals, people, and the planet. ✨

Dr. Goodall leaves behind a legacy that spans continents: a reminder that compassion, humility, and hope can change the world.

She was more than a scientist. She was a pioneer, a humanitarian, and a voice for the voiceless.
